What's on your walls?

I have a favorite although it’s more astronomy than space. Problem is it’s been out of print forever (1981) and is difficult to find now at reasonable prices. I came across one at an estate sale a few years ago but it was damaged so I reluctantly passed. It’s a poster titled Map of the Universe by Thomas Filsinger for Celestial Arts. It has a textured “space dust” effect that glows in the dark. I’m 99% sure it appeared on the show Mad Men. He did another one called Celestial Planosphere that’s also hard to find.

I’ve never owned a picture, poster, photo or ornaments of any kind at any point in my life. I realize now that’s probably very strange.

i want

Your walls have always been blank? Or do you own a lot of paintings?

Blank, that was what i was trying to say.

Lol what got me to balk was not the price, but the $50 shipping fee.

I’ve always wanted a Randy Rackcliff woodcut print. He’s a badass ice climber, artist, and custom climbing backpack maker from New Hampshire.

His work has been featured in some pretty well known climbing books. A couple of examples:

Pretty cool. Prints and backpacks about the same price, ish…

This one is my favorite, but he gave the original woodcut to the widow of Alex Lowe and so no prints ever got made from it. (I think that was the story. I talked to him about trying to buy one about 10 years ago.)

It’s always used in the promo poster for the MWV Ice Climbing Festival every year.

Quote I found about one of his first ascents in the Canadian Rockies:

He (Marc Twight) made the first ascent of “ The Reality Bath ” on the White Pyramid with Randy Rackliff, which is unrepeated and described by Canadian Rockies guidebook author, Albi Sole as “so dangerous as to be of little value except to those suicidally inclined.”
