Is any of this monsoon good news for Lake Mead?
Mild good news, I suppose, but, as I understand it, the main problem is lack of snow in the mountains whose runoff feeds the Colorado River.
yea drought in the southwest is a tricky motherfucker. we have the same problem, it can rain for days and days and not fill the reservoir at all if no snowpack

Reminds me of the time a big storm rolled through and It started pouring inside the Pavilion room. They raced to cover as many tables as the could but it was like playing whack a mole with new holes opening all a cross the ceiling. I got a nice groan when I said “great, now every hand we’re going to have a really wet board”.
