What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. Except Threesomes.

We liked these:

ETA: Algobertos for Birria Tacos.

Here’s a restaurant I’ve always wanted to go to, but never had the right people to go with.

Blackjack dealer talking nonstop about his fiancée in the Philippines who’s been waiting for a year to come to the USA. Player to my left snidely suggests that she should fly to Mexico and “come right in with the millions of illegals.” Ahhh, Vegas.

If you’re still looking, we liked this Korean barbecue place: https://www.yelp.com/biz/8oz-korean-steak-house-las-vegas-2

On our way. Good flight number. We’re taking the kids for their intro to Vegas. They are psyched, as are we. The plan is for some gambling, maybe blackjack, Pai gow, and poker; good food (thanks to TT); pool time w/sports betting; wandering around the strip and downtown; and nightclub action for the kids (maybe).

No plans for threesomes amongst the olds.

Friends were pretty tired after two days of golfing in 110-degree heat, so our “off-strip” dinner ended up being pretty close at Chef Marc’s Trattoria. Trusted the good reviews and it was pretty darn good. That hotel it’s in (the Ahern) is one bizarre place, though. I guess they probably had a lobby casino at one time, and it’s been removed, so they have this quiet, cavernous, empty lobby space.

On Saturday, I hit a straight flush twice in one hour at the Flamingo. $200 high hand bonus each time.
Then won one of their daily tournaments. Ran good!

While it’s impossible to get 100%, indoor mask compliance seemed pretty good in LV. Like, there must be tons of people who are definitely not wearing masks at home that are masking up in LV. Dealers were pretty strict and quickly reminding anybody whose mask even dropped below their nose.

The Ahern Hotel used to be the Lucky Dragon Casino, a boutique hotel and casino that sought to cater to Asians. It failed so spectacularly that it closed less than two years after opening.

Not a bad view from Park MGM. Fake knob and tube wiring in the room is a nice touch lol. It was rough trying to find food at 1030-11 pm. We ended up just getting chicken at the little grill next to the Park sports book. Super strip sticker shock at $78 for 4, with not everyone getting something. BGUTI.

The kids love it, taking pictures of everything. We made it as far as Paris last night, and will start at Bellagio today. First poker session at Aria 1/3 was ok, though I lost a stack to a flopped set. I’m playing well for me, and focusing. That will be my home base, but I may play at others if I get the chance.

Oh I can’t get my fucking Mac to connect to the hotel wifi, so typing on a phone yay.

Check out Best Friend at Park for some good Korean BBQ.

I found the Yelp app indispensable for figuring out what food options were still open late at night.

For a group of four, I think the savings of going to one of the highly rated Korean BBQ places in Chinatown would easily pay for the transportation and more. Plus, some of those places are open until 3am or later.

You have to eat at Best Friend if you’re staying at Park. The Kimchi fried rice was excellent. Should probably try the Kogi tacos if you’ve never had it from the food truck in LA.

Seriously. Fruit platters at my local supermarket are like $15. That’s only $10 more.

On Thursday, we ate at Bardot, which was very good. We were a “perfect party” according to my son - cocktails, apps, mains, bottle of wine, and dessert. Price of Vegas going up by like 25% it seems.

Friday was Eataly, which is at reduced service level, with a couple of stands closed. That was much easier on the wallet. Pic of arancini below.

Tonight we’re going to AYCE sushi, and then Best Friend tomorrow.

We went to the Meow Wolf experience today, and it was fun but very crowded, so not easy to try and follow the story or figure out whether there is a story to follow. It would probably be even more fun on some weed or shrooms.

The kids went to the cluuuub to see Illenium last night, and we’re positioned just behind A-Rod. Lots of LA Lakers players walking around Aria as well.

Poker has been good, with plenty of drinking going on. The Resorts World room is very nice, and had several new or otherwise bad players on Friday afternoon.

There is a story for meow wolf omegamart. But you are right, hard to follow if there’s a crowd.

Just spent 10 minutes yell-arguing with/at the vaccine protesters.

I’m sure I looked awful from any side, but that was all my post-2016 catharsis being let out.

I don’t know how the taxi access is in Chinatown, but from West Flamingo last night, we paid like 65 for an Uber xl back to Park MGM. I’m eyeballing the 65 chefs menu at Best Friend for tonight. I’ll try to remember to take pics.

I’ve heard that parking and Uber prices were ridiculous in Vegas last night due to the Raiders and some other stuff going on.

Anyone reading Leon’s TR in LVL. I just started but I hear it’s pretty good
