What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. Except Threesomes.

This is great, but this is only one part of a multi-part report, and it’s really, really worth it to read the entire thread.

I believe this is the origin of the “posting shoe pic” tradition.

@Riverman ’s writing is incredible. I don’t audibly lol often, but almost every line of his TR got me.

I have no idea why people travel with other people.

Going Memorial Day weekend with the ultimate group… ages 17 to 75, income levels from dead broke to 6 figs, from adventurous foodies to ketchup on burnt steak-ers, from religious prudes to 1.5 atheists (half credit to my daughter), and throw in a gambling addict who is self-banned from all CA casinos and many of the LV ones.

I think I’m going to just hide out in a plo game all weekend. I’m tired of nlhe and have never played plo live

Venetian has a PLO tournament on Friday and PLO8 on Saturday that weekend. Also a big tournament series going on at the Wynn.

As a 4card newb, should i bone up on plo or o8. Low stakes cause I’m a newb. Not really a fan of tournies.

im staying at the Venetian, so that’s a point in its favor

Hardly any O8 any more.

So I’ve never visited Vegas. Really need to one of these days. Just to make it dumber one of my friends from my 2p2 days is director of casino operations for a lesser Vegas casino, and has offered to host me.

High only is easier, but LO8 might be easier than PLO if your mind can handle split games. Sahara has a newb friendly 1/1 plo ($50 min), but it is Tuesday. The tiny non-NL are generally mid-week and off-strip.

Wynn and Venetian tend to have 1/2 plo (5 bring-in) during tournament series.

The Orleans has consistent 4/8 and 8/16 limit everyday and sometimes higher. Aria appears to now have a regular 2/5 big O game.

Depends, do you want to play with someone under retirement age at your table?

My buddy played in a 20 game mix at the aria last time I was there, but if you’re playing a non NL or PLO game odds are the average age at your table will be 70 and they’re grumpy (the 20 game ppl had nice vibes tho)

The Vegas 4/8 mix game people seem to play at Sahara on Friday, sometimes Saturday, and might also play at Westgate and Aria, according to the public facebook page I sometimes look at.

The orleans game is literal torture. Run away. It’s all ultra nits above 60 years old and grumpy as hell. If you play A3xx they treat you like a clinical psychopath.

The very definition of a nut low poker game.

Aria gets multiple tables of 1/2 PLO every day. Read up on some high only strat and hide out there IMO.

I booked a daybed at the Cosmo pool for $600… probably a giant leak but split 5 ways and all food/booze goes towards it isn’t awful. Having a home base all day seems worth it.

You sure the food and booze are deducted from the $600?

If so for five people this could be break even pretty easily.

That’s how I’m interpreting this.

Hmm. I might call and confirm that. Language seems ambiguous to me.

This all seems pretty clear to me:

“The food & beverage minimum is the amount agreed upon to be spent within the pool area on food and/or beverage in order to secure the seating area. Items that may be purchased to meet food & beverage minimums include all food & beverage items available within the pool menu only, and must be consumed within the pool area. Any remaining balances of food and beverage minimums at the end of your reservation will be settled as a rental fee.”
