My sister is a foster mom and recently adopted a girl who has been with our family for 1.5 years, placed with my sister when she was 4 months old. The entire foster system is pretty sad, and any help those kids can get is great. My sister also founded a nonprofit last year whose goal is to reunite siblings who have been separated in the foster system or through adoption. Their main event is a weeklong summer camp where the kids get to be with their siblings and make those sibling bonds/memories that are so vital. If you know anybody who may be interested in volunteering with her camp or helping to raise funds, they are always looking for that. I think they particularly need male cabin counselors this summer.

Been reaching out to other freelancers and asking if I can use them for any surplus work. As long as I have a little work to spare to people far less fortunate, I gotta do what I can. I wouldnāt be where I am if someone hadnāt done the same for me more than once.

Did I find the right thread? Iāve been trying to step up efforts to call my representatives and anyone I can think of since I have nothing to do at home during the day. Iām not working and donāt need to for some time, and can dedicate my āwork dayā to activism.
So far I called my representative to ask her to support the Pressley/Omar bill. Left a message.
I called the Erie DA (716-858-2400) to ask them to charge the officer that pushed that older man down as well as everyone who stepped over him. They said they were getting a ton of calls and put me on a list.
Probably will call some other DAs as well
I need to call my Senators but Iām still figuring out what exact bill / issue Iām going to focus on with that call
If thereās anything else I could be doing with my time here, feel free to drop some suggestions.
Iād also like to attempt to organize a protest around the ICE facility in Vegas, itād be my first time doing any such thing but I have nothing but time and resource.

A few weeks back and motivated by current events, I seized on an opportunity to introduce myself to neighbors that hadnāt long occupied the low-income-housing house next door.
Since introduction, Iāve mowed their lawn (which was becoming massively overgrown, as they have no lawn-service or mower of their own.) Bought them dinner one night and referred them to food pantries (they have 4 kids I think) Iāve lent them my mower, gas can and handsaw for some felled branches, and I cleaned up some trash they left at the side of their property, as our garbage service only collects 2 bags weekly and they are a large clan, that included dirty diapers and whatever else.
I shit you not, they also tried to involve me in a domestic dispute for some reason, both heads of household coming over, knocking on my door, and the 1st thing out of the womanās mouth was her asking me to call the cops on the guy. I refused to call the cops, and tried my best to positively conflict-resolve and deescalate, days later telling the woman Iām not a marriage counselor lmao
