Wouldn’t call in the National Guard for January 6th. But immediately calling them in now for a few 100 protesters interfering with ICE.

Now that is something that does make sense. Wanting to get back at the libs for saying Trump incited an insurrection is very on-brand. “I’m not the insurrectionist, you’re the insurrectionist.”
For Insurrection Act it needs to be shown that the state is refusing to enforce or unable to. Smart of Newsom to say he’s perfectly capable but there’s currently nothing demanding it.

Even cops want to be nice and friendly and have mostly pleasant interactions with people. Same thing was true for Nazi soldiers in WW2 I’m sure.

You never really know how an interaction with a cop or other armed authority is going to go. Yesterday I saw a cop exiting the state Capitol parking lot when some clueless dude came up the drive the wrong way. Cop flashed his lights and got out of his car to yell at the guy, who was showing him his phone to indicate Google maps told him to do it. Fortunately the cop calmed down. By then I was moseying along just in case.
