No local businesses I’d ever use are listed at the site but there are a surprising number.
Mostly it’s a bunch of realtors, contractors, and misc snake oil-like businesses around me.
Seems like bad business unless you want to grift Trumpers.
I checked out my area. I didn’t see anything on the site about being maga, so probably some/many small businesses signed up not knowing what they were doing. And some people probably correctly figure that having even 10% of people pick you because of your politics is good even if 90% of people boycott you. And some are surely very very Trumpy.
But that is excellent business
The site isn’t explicitly saying it but the language on the site is consistent with MAGA. Don Jr. is an investor and on the board of directors. It’s possible small businesses are unaware but if I saw a company I buy stuff from on there I would avoid them. If they were important to me I’d check with them to see if they know what they’re doing.
Absotootly. That’s why I looked. I found one place I might have gone to at some point that I will avoid.
Hardly any around me. The ones that exist are all very male dominated industries like flooring, landscaping and a gun range.
This is the “Eagle Gate” (monument to Brigham Young) at a corner of Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
I imagine this will be cleaned up PDQ.
Target is dead to me
Target has almost singularly failed in its embracing of trump. The backlash for its dei turnaround has been severe.
I’m not gonna click the vid but is it someone trying to pay Devil to ‘Ignite the Right’?
UNITE AND FIGHT
It’s just a screenshot. Someone was passing these out for people to attend the next rally at the Utah Capitol.
Edited the pic.
We had a couple of hundred people at the City and County Building at mid-day. Nice moment at the end with a lawyer lady asking if there was a notary in the crowd so she could do her pledge to uphold the Constitution of the US and California, oddly enough. They actually found a notary, lol.
After, a not so nice guy yelled at some of us as we were leaving that we were all a bunch of fucking idiots and Trump has done more for this country than anyone in 40 years or something. He had his little girl with him, just a toddler, so nobody challenged him. I can’t say these things aren’t interesting.
I don’t know anyone hitting it harder than my wife’s 80+yo aunt and uncle. They seem to be out at least once a week and here they are today in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the cold and rain.
There was a “Die-In” protest yesterday. A few hundred may have showed. Some people were disappointed by that. Could be a loss of enthusiasm. Could be people were a little turned off by the theme. Also it was warm and a nice day so there were other things to do. I got sunburned like a dumbass.
LGBTQ+ plus people did turn out. Not surprisingly, they’re the most consistent attendees at these things.
There was also the hardcore group of counter-protesting Trumpers there with a bullhorn and airhorn. The cops let them come close and with the smaller crowd they did manage to be annoying at times. A lesbian speaker engaged them and got some laughs by promising the women they’d have a better time if they came over to our side.
Later in the day a group of mostly young indigenous people spoke. They are earnest and courageous. Sadly, the crowd had dwindled down to maybe 50 or so by then. It’s heartbreaking if you know any history at all.
Re: Target boycott
Way too long didn’t watch: Target is in a K-Mart situation; they’re going down. At least Walmart tells you they’re shitty to your face. Shop at Costco. Also mean things said about Nate Silver.
Even though her videos are extra long and she rambles, I like Collier. Feels like a conversation with a friend. I think I was introduced to her by @suzzer99, so thanks.
Don’t think it was me. Unless it was and I completely forgot, which is possible.
