War crimes in Ukraine: Just asking questions about both sides

How could the West do such a thing?

Lol at you naive fools who think the West isn’t just as bad.

(see how low effort that is to say and how annoying to have to refute?)

You’re the naive one if you think the US isn’t even worse.

Hasn’t every one of the facts you just commented on has been reported on by US media? If we live in an impenetrable propaganda cloud how do you even know about these things?

Oh no, I agree that people are bombarded with Western propaganda and it shapes our views. The point is … so what? We’ve been down this road a million times already, the forum is divided into people that can acknowledge that things come in degrees and people that insist against all evidence that things only exist in absolutes. Yawn.

On a level of good and bad, USA is at like a 7 and Russia is at about a 1.

USA belongs to the side of the good guys.
Russia belongs to their own axis of evil.

Not the same at all.

Here is the list of shithead countries:

Ok, Joe Buck.

All Russian soldiers in Ukraine are a bunch of disgusting orcs or Uruk Hai.

Prove me wrong.

There is no world in which the USA is on the side of the good guys. Two of our last four Presidents were literal war criminals, and even under the good presidents, we allowed people to bomb civilians with no repercussions. Even when people do get caught red handed committing war crimes, we often let them off or give them a slap on the wrist (and half the country applauds them as war heroes).

This is not to say we’re as bad as Russia - but I can’t believe we are now at the point where we are cheerleading US foreign policy as somehow a force for good. The world would be a better place if the US was not the dominant power.

No one has absolved the US of anything, no matter how desperate you are to fire shots at your enemies.

I took a few marks off for what USA did in middle east which was wrong.

America is still firmly on the good guy’s side.

If you take all the world’s freest democracies and most socially responsible countries, America protects them all with its army.

OK, fine, this one guy absolves America. So now go beat peen to how you get to accuse everyone here of being the same.

just out of curiosity, do you know what russians call ukrainians? what they call azov? do you have any idea if those terms are to the level of ‘orc’ or n-word or some other derogatory epithet?

no? maybe you should have some perspective and not work to justify an illegal invasion and killing of innocents by focusing on a particular word that’s in use SINCE THE INVASION.

are you ignoring the historical fact that during respective afghanistan invasions, soviets (ie russians) killed far more afghanis (and their own casualties) than the US even though the soviet invasion/war lasted about half the time than that of the US? or are you just using recency as your main justification for “US is just as if not more evil than russia hurrdurr”?

gmafb, there are good reasons to be anti-military and anti-war in the US, but likely not during an ongoing conflict in which the US could stop without direct deployment

Whereas the rest of us can’t imagine the mindset that sees another genocide and says, “yeahbutAmericabad!”
