Damnit I considered a Robert Johnson song but then I read your category and submitted something completely different.
Also thanks to seities and Pauwl for organizing this beast And for everyone for figuring out 13 songs to submit. I only know a couple songs in my category offhand, excited to start listening today although I probably wonāt be able to do a reveal until I have a weekend where Iām working.

Cheese of all varieties has now been passed on to Pauwl, so we should all have out entries now.
As has been said earlier, massive thanks to Pauwl for volunteering to receive and pass on the entries, and keeping score.
Iāll create a reveal thread in the next few days. Canāt wait to start listening!
For me I take all the songs and find them on spotify and create a playlist so I can listen through and drag then into order of preference over time. But I am really looking forward to the other reveals as well. Lots of interesting categories!

I donāt know any of the songs I received and overall a lot are great fits; nowhere close to actually ranking them, but optimistic iāll like a good number of these

Should we make the reveal thread and move discussion to that? How long do these usually take? Right now Iām looking at Sept 19-20 for mine based on schedule but if thatās too long Iāll try to do it sooner.

Ahead of creating the reveal thread, some reminders:
Suggestions:

Do your listening and prep your reveals as much as possible ahead of time. This will make much of the reveal a copy/paste affair and you can add a little colour during the reveal if you like, particularly to respond to the peanut gallery telling you your subjective appreciation of art is incorrect.

Once you know your reveal is mostly prepped and ready to go, call your day to do the reveal. This way people can roughly try to self-organize. We donāt want to have two people revealing at the same time, so if we consider every day itās own slot that people call in advance it should work out. I figure one reveal a day is already a fast pace so we probably donāt need to schedule more than one in a day, but I donāt really consider it a āruleā. Ideally once we start rolling I think a reveal every 1-3 days is a good constant pace but I am open to feedback about that and we can figure out along the way if the pacing needs to change. If someone canāt do their reveal on their planned day we can just sort that out organically along the way by someone else jumping in or leaving that day empty. I think we probably want to allow about 3 weeks total to get through the 14 reveals.

On reveals
I think weāve all either participated in or run a Walrus at some point (aside from NotBruceZ), so we get the general idea.
Timing: I think the best window to do the reveals is probably starting and finishing between 12 midday NYC/5pm London and 6pm NYC/11pm London. But for the love of all things blubbery please donāt do a 6-hour long reveal.
Etiquette
- Itās always appreciated to have people commenting/railing during the reveal. As much as I was an instigator of the ācurseā discussion in the last grab bag, letās leave that out of this one as it kinda discourages participation during the reveal.
- Try to āclaimā your songs once they have been revealed. It makes it easier for the scorer to update the scoresheet without having to go back through the submissions and piece it together.
- A bit of fun ribbing is fine, but letās remember not to take or make things personal.

I might honestly be ready by Wednesday since yaāll sent me about 10 nodium tracks.
I was even looking forward to listening to one of the songs I already knew and apparently itās an inferior version!

That seems to be how it goes unfortunately when you pick a genre you know a lot about and most others donāt. If I am the best of the ten worst is that a nodium podium?
