Walrus 9 Reveal Thread

That Sparks song is absolutely fantastic.

Thanks, I’ll just catch up on the old ones anyhow.

I don’t like that sparks song.

The Insane Clown Posse song was not what I expected at all lol. Are they like a Christian band or something?

Original Tainted Love is really good, I did know it was a cover but not of what.

Sorry, I was targeting a reveal yesterday but then my wife didn’t cooperate and put on Uncut Gems which sucked me in instead. Given the listening is done already then tonight (Saturday) isn’t out of the question, will update later.

Uncut Gems is fantastic. I had no idea Adam Sandler had that performance in him.

It was good, but I also found watching a film about a terrible person making terrible decisions really quite stressful. Well, a whole host of terrible people doing that, in fact.

That song was a pretty big meme 7 years ago when it came out. You don’t know about juggalos? I can’t tell what level your post is on.

I know OF them

Sparks song was a great submission for this category; not sure I will be listening to it again but if you played it at a dinner party, at some point someone would definitely be like ‘Wait wtf is this music?’ I don’t really find it to be either good or bad, just interesting.

There couldn’t be a more romantic way to spend Valentines day than watching your husband rate and review music submitted by people he has never met whilst looking at pictures of Walruses.

You missed a golden opportunity, Pyatnitski.

Yep pretty sure this is happening. Let’s say in 90 mins to 120 mins time. We will be running through:

Noisy or depressing
One time I was told to put some music on and someone piped up with, “nothing noisy or depressing, though.” I was stumped. So, given I want stuff I like, hit me with either the noisiest noisy noise you think is good, or the bleakest burst of existential horror you can take. Preferably both!

Bring the noise!

Not forgetting the depression.

OK, just going to watch the biathlon from earlier (no spoilers!), then we’re on.

You heard that, everyone? No biathlon spoilers!

And while we’re at it, please no spoilers on where that guy’s baby is taking him. I’m on rewatch number 15 of that clip and feel I’m pretty close to figuring it out for myself.

I had a dream that thousands of dollars we’re at stake in side bets with these reveals.

Thanks everyone. Bit gutted for Fillon Maillet, but what can you do? Anyway, time for some music.

Noisy and/or depressing, has anyone ever written a better blueprint for music than that? Depressing as WAAF, loud to try and blot it all out. Lovely stuff.

What would I have submitted? The choices are essentially endless and the temptation to submit something really fucking loud would probably have been too much to pass up. I would have probably stuck to something with half a tune, though, so why not an ear bothering but mind blowing blast of death metal (by way of ancient Egypt) from the amazing Nile. You can’t tell what he’s saying, but apparently the first lines are:

The scourge of Amalek is upon you, The seed of Amu hath oppressed you
They hath urinated upon you and made you eat feces

So it’s not the most cheerful of songs either. A fine palate cleanser for what’s to come.
