The next two elections may be the most important in this country’s history. All eligible non GQP voters need to completely overwhelm the system in order to save democracy imo

Wait I was told that we just did that

We did, the issue is that Dems have to win every time or we get knocked back a decade.

Not looking good in 2022. Dems have accomplished nothing, casuals will be tired of politics, Trumpers just as fired up as always.

Don’t worry I hear the Dems are gonna do a big voter education program so we should be saved right?

Zero percent chance.

The only think working in Democrats favor in 2022 is that the senate map is extremely good.

Democrats probably lose the house and get obliterated in gubernatorial elections.

Then comes 2024, with a fired up Republican base, new and improved voter suppression, and the WOAT senate map.

I thought about voting Yes only because I think the word “significant” is missing from the question.

In other words I think there’s a decent chance (though probably still <50%) that something related to voting rights gets passed, ie some toothless bipartisan bullshit that gives everybody a little cover wrt this issue. There’s plenty of Dems that would be happy with some superficial cosmetic changes that just tweak things a little bit.

Something gets passed, it won’t do much good. It may do some bad.

The difference is, Dems are their own worst enemy while Rs at the very least cater to their base. Otherwise, there’s very little difference between the two parties policy-wise in that they are both pro war, pro corporate, and pro oligarchy

These takes seem curious to me.
