God damn it, now I have to play this

battlefront 2 is having a weird resurgence right now, packed lobbies, forgot how fun this game was

It turns out even these two examples will work with the Switch 2, you just have to use Switch 1 joy-cons.

battlefront 2 has been like taking a time capsule back to a rawer feel of MP (multiplayer) gameplay that ive experienced in a while.

it’s the 40v40 chaos. they dont even try to balance it and never have. even battlefield vets describe it as chaotic (i am one) because of how zany the hero classes are. everyone playing has one incentive: to maximize their own personal score and clip farm. and somehow the games are great. reminds me of the very old halo lans 20+ years ago when some wizard sys admin could wire up a 20v20 lan game. nothing at stake, just ego. games basically abandoned and has reached really high player counts somehow. battlefield NEVER was able to do this.

The closest comparison I can describe is the 200v200 turf wars in dialup era star wars galaxies that were inevitably centered around a handful of jedi and a shitload of grunts for nothing but pride and some virtual dollars. just awesome, star wars feeling mass combat without 5 seconds of latency.

unfortunately games like this catch flame briefly and then die because they dont cleanly fit the dopamine lootbox rush model of modern games but its fun to taste it again, if not for a brief moment. highly recommend getting in there.

Elden Ring AA spin off thing getting pretty dragged in reviews. Maybe if I played it on pc but that PS5 40ish frame rate for “only” a coop battle royale seems uh unfun, I’ve had enough of that fking game engine I think.

God damn, Amy Lee just rolling in cash right now

Eh ok I’m through act I of expedition 33. If you loved trad JRPGs you’ll probably like it. If you hate people not asking the most fucking obvious “what the fuck is going on” questions in a world of mystery you’ll post to a tiny message board to complain about it.

Tons of stuff on sale for Playstation days of play.

Alan Wake is $4.49. Can’t pass it up at that price.

Damn the new one? I got to get on that

No it’s the first one

Can’t stop playing The Bazaar. Its an autobattler deckbuilder/herobuilder type game with PVE and PVP and a very fun and addictive gameplay loop. Kind of takes a lot of the best elements of hearthstone, slay the spire, mtg, and TFT. Also asynchronous PVP which is great for brief bursts of gaming (kids, etc).

F2P and came out of beta a month or two ago, really needs to get on mobile.

Epic’s current and upcoming free games are really good. Deathloop now, Two Point Hospital next week.

How do you like the new Mario Kart? My initial impressions are good. Handles different than MK8, and I’m still figuring out the new rail-grinding and wall-riding mechanics. The new knockout mode is really fun. Haven’t played online yet.

We’ve been mostly playing the knockout mode, we went through and played all the cups yesterday to unlock the special cup with rainbow road. I’m bringing the Switch 2 and a bunch of controllers over to my family today so hopefully the violence is kept to a minimum but we’ll see.

I really am enjoying it. You’re right though the parts where characters in the story don’t ask obvious questions detracts from the story. However I’m really enjoying the gameplay and the world is interesting.
