You can adjust the CRT options to make the graphics smoother.
The game was made by a single dev and, though simple, I think that it has an extremely intuitive UI that you would appreciate.

just won my first deity difficulty with babylon, which is super op. It took 3 starts, the first two fizzling at 150 turns due to lack of strategics, which is a huge deal with babylonās weird passive - they get half science output, but all eurekas immediately grant the technology, even if you lack prerequisites. so if youāre smart and a little lucky you can slingshot into insane technologies very early. I had a tough australia continent start surrounded by extremely hostile cics who I pretty much warred with all 250 turns, but early musketman had me steamroll the maori and ruin phillip 2ās day who spent the rest of the game trying and failing to convert my religion, the Crab People.
Anyway the strat ended up being far stronger than I thought, I stole it from potato, but basically you just slingshot tech into biosphere, which gives double power and tourism from renewables, and spam wind farms and win the culture game in 10-20 turns. The early slingshot tech allowed me to get some crazy wonders midgame. I had extra lucky diamonds monopoly which gives 25% gold to a city if they put the product in a stock exchange or seaport, which I didnt even abuse. Owls of minerva society gave me superpowered spies (steal tech instantly learns it with babylon passive) that stopped the inevitable science rush once the ai panics and realizes what youāre doing. I cant believe it took me so long to play on higher difficulties, if you can escape the early game it really isnāt very different than the lower difficulty.
I remember trading in MLB the Show 2012 or something and literally getting nearly infinite coins and a stacked team without ever spending a $. Just arbitraging the market, did it in a month and then got bored of the game two weeks later.
People would message me after games and insult me for spending tens of thousands to get the team I did.
Yea you can still do this whilst sitting on the toilet with the app. I didnt know this and spent an embarrassing amount getting babe ruth in ā24
Ghostrunner 2 is free today on Epic Games.
Finally beat the last boss of the Elden Ring DLC. Toughest boss in the game by far. Ended up summoning another player, but not until I almost killed him myself (with my usual NPC summon) a few times. Glad to have it done before year end.
I really loved that dlc
I am enjoying the new Indiana Jones game on Xbox. I get to spend hours beating fascists. I am in no hurry to finish.
Iām kind of torn on the DLC. The legacy dungeons are really good, and some interesting design of the overworld. On the other hand, enemies are overtuned, a lot of the world seems empty, and quests remain cryptic AF.
the overtuned enemies immediately turned me off. my faith/int super decked out pure caster end game character was completely pwned due to the scaling in that zone. I was hoping Iād breeze through it but found I probably needed to respec and didnt feel like it at all, so I didnt finish it.
Going to finally get my ps5 pro setup going. Still on a ps4 pro I got in a sale in 2019, only real reason to upgrade is not performance (specs are almost exactly like the ps5 in reality) but the fact that too many games now are only ps5, including mlb 25 which I need to get because Iām a degenerate. Iām super impressed by the ps4. this thing has taken at least a dozen hard spills to the dome, two bad drops, and a lot of other abuse and dust and has never had a single issue whatsoever. I got nearly 6 years out of that purchase, and since there arent even any real dates for a ps6, and ps6 only games rollout likely wont happen for years after that, then I can probably eek out a similarly long life out of a ps5 pro. I want complete VR support long term though, so still kind of waffling on how I imagine that going.
? Build isnāt the issue. You need to acquire scadutree fragments from exploration to increase your damage dealt and reduce damage taken in the dlc. I see no issue with this mechanic as it encourage the player to explore and experience the dlc as intented and not just start it up being overpowered.
I know, I got pretty far in it. I just hate that mechanic since I spent so many hours in the main world making my character powerful only to feel like a wimp in the dlc. I really donāt like that decision.
I need some weird advice that I cant think of where to ask anywhere except maybe here because youāre a lot of old fucks, but, Iāve been experiencing significant problems in my competitive gaming the last few years that is causing significant depression and dread and I need a workaround.
The gist is, I find that to maintain ranks I used to easily, I need to work smarter, as you lose something like 100-200 milliseconds of decision-based reaction time per decade after 25 and it accelerates. Most highly competitive games out there require double digit milliseconds of critical decision points, where someone being 10ms faster than you means you likely lose every single time. FPS shooters like counterstrike are like this, where my first esports exposure was for a competitive CS:Source team and later CS:Go when I was a teenager. I had bad mechanics and tactics but exceptional twitch reflexes that just had me win out of speed most of the time. This was the first thing that I noticed that left me, around the age of 28 or 29, but I had long lost interest to those types of games because I dislike the violence (lol, I know) and it gives me vivid nightmares where I am fighting in war and Iād prefer not to have those, so luckily that wasnāt an issue for me.
The reflexes thing was whatever, at one point I was so concerned about it I had myself tested weekly for 2 years to prove it was happening and understand by how much, and I was very pleased with the results. Iām no longer as concerned as being sidelined by stuff like that, as long as my tactics keep improving, I can probably out-think and react dumb ragey kids online for a while longer.
The issue now is injury. I have constant and raging tendonitis in my hands to where I cannot work something as simple as a touchscreen sometimes. Itās not overuse, itās just age and it makes fine movements a lot harder. I get weekly PT to treat it and itās still bad. Luckily, Iāve avoided carpal - itās my fingers/tendons. So, I quit M/KB games a year ago because of this and itās gotten better and Iāve switched to console.
Now, console is bad. My hand will seize up entirely like I cannot use it. I cannot coordinate my muscles without pain enough to make smooth, fine movements, so itās starting to really be a nuisance. Iām going to have to quit or just give up any aspirations of competing seriously ever again (almost a nonstarter for me), because I donāt want to be in pain, but I think there could be other solutions like VR or maybe a special control scheme I could learn to reduce pain. Any suggestions or has anyone dealt with something like this? I canāt describe how painful and miserable it is, especially when your main form of living is typing on a keyboard.
damn I didnāt play that competitively. Itās not worth pain just to get those rascally kids one more day though.
we all have coping mechanisms, ive transitioned to competitive sports more now that I can finally do them, but its so deeply ingrained that its silly to try to change it
plus theres no more delight than absolutely dunking on a toxic snotty privileged little nazi brat with an 88 username calling you all sorts of horrible slurs, and then listening to the ensuing meltdown - it is a little bit like crack, it doesnt reflect well on me but i dont care
