Just built a new PC. Decided to pull the trigger before the trump tariffs go into effect and make everything even more expensive.
I havenāt built a PC in >10 years. I had to get a new one 4 years back but that was during COVID when pre-builts were actually less expensive, so that one started crapping out last month.
Case manufacturers have really stepped up their game. Cable management is so easy now, and M2 SSDs eliminate a lot of the crap that old builds used to need.
So clean. Booted up right away, got windows installed, now Iām downloading Dragon Age.
Unfortunately, my old monitors werenāt up to snuff anymore (two 24" 1080p), so I splurged on a 49" ultrawide curved and oh my god itās fantastic. I feel like I can finally use Windows the way it was meant to be used.

Built my first one since 2012ish a month back and Iām loving it. Yeah cases and cord management are so clean now, its just these behemoth GPUs taking up space. Didnāt splurge on one of the mega ultrawides though, using a 32" curved one.

I will definitely get around to the Elden Ring DLC at some point. My biggest hurdle is between my business and family/friend commitments I donāt have a ton of time to game. I wish I could play more. Elden Ring took me almost 8 months to beat and I didnāt really play anything else in that time. Iād squeeze in a few hours when I could. I also donāt have that ālet my wife go to bed at 10 and stay up until 3 playingā in my constitution any more. Now, sadly, Iām the one looking to go to bed at 10. Iām getting old, lol.
Astro Bot on the other hand, took me 4 or 5 sessions and I was able to beat it. Such a satisfying game. Happy to hear it won GOTY.
I totally hear you. Iām 44 and I just canāt game the way I used to. Once in a while if a single player adventure type game really grips me Iāll make more time than usual but otherwise I typically get a few hours in a week these days. Some weeks itās zero.

This one has me all kinds of hyped. New Naughty Dog IP with Neil Druckman at the helm and a soundtrack by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Trailer is 100% in game engine.

Idk but that is definitely Kumail Nanjiani in the trailer. Could totally see them having Kojima too. I think this is gonna be awesome.

I liked W3 and would buy Witcher 4, but I donāt participate in the multi year marketing hype to build up a release for a video game that may come out in 2029 and end up being awful.
If itās ready this weekend, iāll get hyped.

Half Life 3 confirmed?
For me, Witcher 3 was probably top 5 of all time as far as time played. I really enjoyed the entire story of that game. I just donāt like how games are marketed these days - but I get it that it serves them better to do it this way. I hope it comes sooner than later.
