I’m thankful for these boards and the friends here.
I’m thankful the rest of the country gets to understand my pain as a lifelong Lions fan (though we are beating the Bears today).
I’m thankful the pooches seem to be doing well with their various maladie$.
I’m thankful for science and medicine that means I can spend holidays with family. (Even if it’s socialism and hyperinflation)
I’m thankful that my wife and kids and I were able to travel across the country to see my dad and sister, and have a great time doing it.
I’m grateful to be sober, and for all the gifts that come along with that.
I’m thankful to be alive, relatively healthy, and employed. I’m thankful that my family has not been wrecked by covid like so many others have.
I’m thankful for the community here and in discord. Great friends, great times, a great year.
I’m grateful that Canada, The Actual Greatest Country In The World, has the sense to not jam Thanksgiving and Xmas in the same 4 week period.
Thanksgiving at the Wookie household is off to a great start. My brother rear-ended my parents on their way home from church. I just got back from standing out in the rain as my dad tried to pry the body of the car away from the tire to watch for oncoming traffic. My dad was able to limp home with their car, which is basically totaled. It’s pretty old. My dad and my brother are getting my brother’s car towed to a shop for a quote, but they aren’t optimistic that they will have it fixed. So, I am thankful they are unhurt.
Like I always say, religion is a net negative.
Very glad it’s only car damage and not the people.
For Thanksgiving when eating we all go around the room and say what each of us is thankful for over the last year. Some really good ones from the fam this year including being thankful for beating cancer, being able to retire, surviving Covid, getting sober, new baby. Some truly heartfelt stuff.
Political discussion has generally been off limits for some time with us. When it was my youngest cousin’s turn she went with a “Thankful we have a real president in Joe Biden” to troll the Trumpers in the family. Well played little cousin. Well played.

My FIL took an interview trip back in 1981 solely due to wanting to see Cinci because of WKRP. That’s how my wife ended up being raised there.
Cannot recommend enough:
It’s a very underrated sitcom. I think that they had a lot of problems with copyrights on all the music in the show, so when the distribution models changed from traditional broadcast to stuff like DVDs WKRP kind of got forgotten.
My NL team was the Reds and I loved WKRP. No wonder I ended up with a Cinci girl.
