I know the terminology isn’t meant for me, but still, “occupiers” makes me think of stinky leftists in tents, not war criminals. Invaders, war mongers, war criminals, etc all sound more intrusive to me, but maybe occupiers has different connotation in Russian and Ukrainian.

“Okkupant” has a distinct nazi germany connotation, so it’s really worse than even “war criminal”, which doesn’t resonate as so many soviets and other slavics were war criminals during other conflicts.

Belenko’s story is pretty wild. He almost ran out of fuel. Landed at a civilian airport with a runway that was too short. The locals came around out of curiosity and were taking pictures so he fired shots into the air. Guess his biographer’s name: John Barron

UA air defense continues to be a challenge for russian pilots to find and eliminate. it’s hard to do if you don’t fly in teams evidently. first they gotta survive the missile, then try to remember where it came from, and make sure to bomb it in time.
i don’t know if y’all can read the autogenerated closed captions well enough, but man just look at the faces and listen to the laughter in a bomb shelter.
