Nazis? Why it looks like a normal Military & Cops Appreciation Day of the kind we have here at American sports games.

Hey wait a minute…

Yeah it seems like this kind of thing isn’t aimed at Moscow, where everyone knows the employees had to be there - but out in the sticks, where the rural base will be like “Wow, look at all that support!”

Canadians. They didn’t get Russia, Russia, Russia over there. Probably an even bigger divide in US.

I guess. If you ignore that Japan was the aggressor by bombing Pearl Harbor. Where’s the equivalent event in Ukraine?

And for all the American lives that were “saved,” a fuck-ton more Japanese lives were also saved since they got to avoid a fight to the last man in a war that they lost years before but refused to surrender. If the US were “forced” to take the Japanese mainland, how many Japanese die? The kill ratios were bad for them in the entire Pacific theater.

Not sure if better here or in insanity thread but seems like rootin’ for Putin not as cool as it used to be.

Putin would say Donbas is the equivalent event. And that he’s just trying to get Maruipol to surrender to save the civilian lives that would be lost in house to house fighting. He’d argue that if Ukraine would just surrender now, no more civilians would die in his invasion (IE - US invading Japan).

The point is if strategically killing civilians was a prosecutable war crime, regardless of who started the war or who is in the right, the US would be in a lot of trouble. Judging who is in the right and wrong in a war, and when the killing of civilians might be justified to save more civilian lives down the road, is inherently subjective.

I’m not saying I have any answers.

And Putin would be wrong. Period.

But let’s agree to disagree.

To justify the claim that the three men were killed in the current fighting, Russian channels on messaging app Telegram and the Pravda.ru Facebook page posted a photo of a Tennessee state flag that had the men’s names written on it.

A flag with names on it.

Written in Cyrillic I’m sure, or even worse, cursive.
