Reactors are well below ground and designed to handle big explosions. This is not an issue, I mean the chance of disaster tomorrow probably increased 1000 fold from 0 to still 0

So apparently we have an American on the ISS who needs a Soyuz to get down. Is Russian taxi the only option to get back and forth to the ISS? Because that could get weird.

They probably designed for armed combatants, but not a full scale army invasion. Ontario’s plants have a number of heavily armed machine gun defenders so I assume those in Eastern Europe have even more. Since they are Soviet they probably didn’t plan for an invading Soviet army in their design, but several bombs and fires is absolutely planned for.

Space X brought some people there recently. I assume getting them back is within their range of capabilities but maybe not. If anyone’s capable of designing a one way trip to low earth orbit with no plan to return it’s Elon.

Also a nuclear power plant’s ability to withstand this and still provide power safely is far greater than say a hydro power plant’s.

i think they probably need the Soyuz reentry capsule.

How good were the seats?

Really interesting article from leaked US strategic docs in 2011.

Cliffs: They don’t think Putin is going to stop until the USSR is essentially reformed. But they assumed Ukraine was as locked down as Belarus. So the 2014 revolution really borked Putin’s plans.

It goes on to basically predict the information war and Russia cozying up to Germany. A ton of other stuff like driving a wedge in NATO that at least at the moment looks to have all gone up in flames.

“We are well aware of the special operation that was to take place directly by the Kadyrovites to eliminate our president. And I can say that we have received information from the FSB, who today do not want to take part in this bloody war,” Danilov said. “And thanks to this, the Kadyrov elite group was destroyed, which came here to eliminate our president.”

Wait what? Is he just trolling?

russians use the term “многоходовочка” , or a “multi-move combination,” with respect to putin’s crazy tactics and plans. it’s like their version of 4d chess joke.

sure a plan like that may exist, but along the way putin shoots himself and russia in the dick with an ak a lot.

How did he miscalculate a nato wedge so horribly?

I’ve seen that reported by several outlets. No idea if that’s where he got the info, but he’s still alive so :woman_shrugging:

What are things we know but shouldn’t say out loud as national politicians for all the money, Lindsey?

Sounds like twitter and facebook are completely down in Russia but can still be accessed with a VPN.
