Still don’t know the US hasn’t announced they’ll take in thousands of refugees. I know there’s a fear of right wing backlash but there might not be because of racism, and even if there’s a risk you still have to do it.

I wondered about this when I saw the clips from the CNN interview although honestly didn’t think that would be possible from the two angles.
Not sure I blame the network - I would think Zelensky’s team certainly considered this and signed off on what would be shown. Certainly possible they used a location they knew he’d never be in again.

I doubt this was a mistake. I think Zelensky has been on camera in known locations to counter any accusations that he has fled.

Yeah, but Trump knew that was just a pretense for a greater invasion, as everyone knew. That’s part of what was so stupid about the comment. I think Trump thought that Putin had come up with some elite (genius) excuse to justify the invasion, when we all knew it was bullshit. I think the “genius” description was awful when it was said, and its not going to age well either.
Trump: instantly shrugs off all criticism by blaming this all on Biden for not being tough on Putin like he was.
