Russian ally Azerbaijan sending medicine to help Ukraine. I see Google News links to articles about them re-affirming their alliance with Russia two days ago. Putin seems to be losing support of his ally/puppet states.

Putin’s “red line” talk is bullshit. Everyone knows the West has been supplying weapons to Ukraine. It’s not any different from when we shipped the Taliban Stingers when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan. If there’s one thing the US is brilliant at, it’s shipping guns all over the world, with affordable lend-lease pricing options.
Speaking from the Kremlin on Thursday morning as he launched the Russian military’s invasion of Ukraine, Putin said Russia would respond instantly if any external force tried to interfere.
“Whoever tries to hinder us, and even more so, to create threats to our country, to our people, should know that Russia’s response will be immediate. And it will lead you to such consequences that you have never encountered in your history,” the Russian president said.
Sure it’s bullshit. But it’s still a potential human extinction-level event. So you have to give it some thought before brushing aside. For whatever reason it wasn’t clear to me we were going to keep shipping weapons into Ukraine the whole time.
It’s a pretty clear threat of using nukes. There are no other consequences Russia could possibly deal that meet that description.
Perhaps not a red line, but a line in the sand. It’s a line of sorts, and the threat is severe.
Probably got his inspiration from Trump’s “fire and fury” speech.
