I don’t think the gunfire is Kyiv. Lots of live cams here and none of the Kyiv ones had gunfire when I checked them.

It was Kyiv when I made that posted. It switched back to Kakhovka. It was at about 3:05h local time.

So it’s approaching 5am in Kyiv, and surviving the night with control of Kyiv seems like a really big inflection point if Zelensky was being honest - he said the fighting overnight would determine the outcome.
Logically that doesn’t make complete sense, but emotionally I could see it being demoralizing to Russian troops and emboldening to Ukraine.

russia has still advanced today but it’s surprising they don’t have much yet at all to hang their hats on, I figured one eastern city would’ve fallen pretty quick
