Few military twitter people have made exactly this point. Modern air defenses don’t require light and Ukraine sure seems to have them. Also jumping at night remains really fucking hard. My grandpa (former paratrooper) still complains about that shit.
Don’t need to be an ambassador to get your hands on samurai armor. Just go to any antique shop in Japan.
How much does an antique set of armor cost these days?

Like any antique item it ranges from near worthless junk to priceless treasure depending on quality, condition, historical significance, etc.

Based on Ukrainian reports it sounds like they’re not jumping or landing. They’re crashing.

yeah it sounds like they are still hoping to get control of an airfield long enough to land the il76. it’s still very risky, but at least it’s not jumping in the middle of the night
