Supplying military equipment after a request from an illegally invaded country doesn’t sound at all like fighting.

They won’t install their own government, they will probably hold a “legitimate” election, complete with disinformation and handpicked candidates. Popular opponents of Russia get assassinated in the build up to the election.
edit: Ukraine has been extremely corrupt for a long period of time, Zelensky was the first leader to fight and be successful at removing that corruption. Putin is quite confident after his removal that Ukraine can be easily manipulated to return to its former ways.

These are bad comparisons though. Mostly the forces in these conflicts weren’t fighting, they were patrolling around and occasionally getting ambushed.
The Six Day War had about 70k casualties (including wounded).
I’m not saying its going to be easy. I’m saying he’s not going to let Ukrainians do whatever they want.
The price he paid to invade is to great for him. He will be ruthless to subjugate the Ukrainians.

The west should airlift Zelensky out at the last minute. Letting him get eaten up by the wolves seems like a bad idea.
Ukrainians have rallied around Zelensky and it would be a mistake to let Putin publicly castrate the man.

I’d like to see them take the Snake Island outside of Brazil, which is literally teeming with highly poisonous snakes that wait in the trees to nab seabirds.
