Shooting down Russian aircraft and drones doesn’t hurt NATO!
US is always isolationist in the lead up to a WW. We’re better at starting wars with much weaker opponents and styling on them.
Then some asshole goes and sinks a Lusitania and the public opinion sways towards joining because they are getting a little jealous of all the war.
Well. Depends. Not immediately. But if it takes them I to an escalated hot war it does.
You sure about that?
USA really wasn’t very isolationist in both Europe and the Pacific in the run up to ww2, especially in the pacific
The US was still doing imperialism but there was a shift. The Age of Empire was over (1914). The US did not join the League of Nations (1920). Harding came in and started doing tariffs, limiting immigration, and talking up America First. Then the depression.
Agreed. Things are never as black and white simple.
Tangent.
But if you read the debates at the time. There’s an alternative reality where instead of independent, the Philippines became a fully fledged state of America. Or else some kind of half way house like PR.
So is this just the usual 3-year-old’s brain thing where he sides with the last person he spoke to? Or is this more of a “I want to back the winner because it means I’m a winner too” deal (which of course would be a good sign for Ukraine because it means they’re seen as having the upper hand now).
Hotel deal with Putin probably fell through.
Trump served up a quarter of Ukraine on a platter to Putin, but Putin was so goddamned greedy he didn’t take it.
Now bad lag is mad other bad lag won’t respect his raises.
Trump is a pretty intelligent guy. After getting played by Putin like 47 straight times in a row he might be starting to learn something
Imagine if Western democracy gets saved because Trump isn’t afraid of the pee pee tape anymore, since he can just claim it’s AI.

Many problems in other sectors too. I doubt the gasoline shortages alter the front line much as the military will get priority, but everything that hurts the Russian economy is obviously good. Speculation on my part, but I’m guessing that the domestic shortage means that Russia has to keep exporting in order to not have their deficit completely crater.
Putin remains a tactical genius.
Two kamikaze drones using auto guidance against boats.
These are getting more common, this is the first I’ve seen that can be posted without too much gore. (Second one hits as well, but I cut it due to gore.)
European diplomats warned the Kremlin this week that NATO is ready to respond to further violations of its airspace with full force, including by shooting down Russian planes, according to officials familiar with the exchange.
Unlikely they shoot down a plane. I don’t know what they would be but there would more intermediate steps before that.
They probably will shoot down drones tho
The UN guy was pretty clear that planes and drones were on the menu and Russia has been warned. We’ll see who blinks first I guess.
