Well, that or someone tossed their cigarette in the wrong bin.
I really like the comment that Olink made that for the last 70 years it has been in both US and Russian interests to overemphasize the strength and ability of the Russian military.
Like Russia was ranked no. 2 preseason and now they’re 4-0, but they have a checkered past and their toughest opponents have been East Jesus State and an above average community college. So they kinda swagger into Appalachia State and their scouting is a few years out of date. That’s why they play the game.

I think it’s just another data point on the shift we’ve seen with the tanks.
Smart missiles with modern digital tech >>>>>>>>>>>>> defences and armor
This is way overstated. Russia would have won a conventional war in Europe, hands down, any time before the 80s.
When the Soviet Union broke up and the West got a good look at their capabilities almost everyone agreed they would have won a conventional war in Europe. However since then Russia and its army have been in decline especially compared to the West and ‘defensive’ weapons have improved a lot more than offensive ones which really shows in this conflict.
and keep in mind the Moskva is a 45-year-old boat with probably 30-year-old radar. The only reason it lasted this long into the invasion is how far out in the water it was.
the swag levels are off the charts

Lol Ukraine continuing its provocations.
First the Russians say Ukraine bombed themselves. Then the Ukrainians say the Russians bombed themselves. It’s all so confusing. Who the hell knows what’s going on? Guess I’ll just believe whatever I want to believe.

I don’t understand why guys like him and Navalny go back to Russia.

Hearing reports Turkey rescued 50-something men out of a crew of 510. Some are assuming that to mean the rest are dead and Russia made no effort to rescue any of them, which seems like a huge stretch. Also if Russia was ever actually trying to tow the boat as claimed, then you have to assume they rescued most of the crew who didn’t die in the explosion or die of drowning/hypothermia soon after.

Man I don’t know. For one, it’s very very very easy to see how this technology is going to be abused. Imagine Russians facial scanning every refugee in Maripol and executing anyone with any pro Ukrainian social media. Two, I know it’s war and all, but it does seem like notifying the parents with respect would solve the complaints that people have about it. I mean didn’t opposing forces notify people when they discovered that they died in WW2? Or is it the gloating aspect not the notifying aspect that people are complaining about. Or is it notifying the parents directly as opposed to notifying the Russians and letting them deal with it?
Hard for me to knock Ukraine for this. Russia is invading and providing an existential threat to their existence. They’re being mean to the families of dead soldiers sent into their country, that Russia is likely hiding or denying.
Also, I don’t think Ukraine needs to worry about reprisals. Russia is seemingly executing any male under 50 period. Don’t need facial scans to do that.
