turns out the Germans had a barely functioning reactor and were nowhere near being able to produce an atomic bomb.
here’s what i read in college on the subject. germans had come up with a faulty design that would prove to be impossible in practice (which they did not know at the time), and would have required decades worth of uranium (scientists understood that but hid it from military leadership for a while).
Yeah they didn’t even try. The Manhattan project was an immense undertaking and the German program wasn’t even a hundredth of the effort and money the Allies invested in the bomb.

The woman who was reading out the names and addresses of Tutsis on the air and telling people to hack them to pieces with machetes was arrested and received a life sentence.
The “goofier” guy that was more of a clown that told people to murder Tutsis in between his otherwise hilarious antics on air did escape but died a few years later.

I chalk it up to bureaucractic infighting. Probably Putin doesn’t care about the issue itself but the relative power positions. If Wagner is getting to big for its pants then he’ll side with the military but who knows. It doesn’t seem like Wagner was getting great results with its suicide wave technique.
