I just started watching this show for the first time knowing nothing about it other than it’s a who dunnit. I’m halfway through the second episode and am really enjoying the quirkiness. This is going to be fun I can tell.
I might be due for a rewatch of the og series, been a while.
Well it took me over thirty years (since I saw Fire Walk With Me cold on a hilariously ill-advised date in 1993), but I finally finished the second season. Was a bit of a chore at the end there, bit holy smokes was the last episode good. I ended up watching the movie again right away and it really is very good, maybe better than Blue Velvet (although I don’t think having watched the series made all that much difference). I didn’t plan to, but now I’m starting the new series even though I only have 3 more weeks of Paramount+ lol.
My thinking is that the show was never all that weird; maybe actually the first “primetime soap” to take that genre both seriously and literally. In that way, probably the first “prestige TV” series, sad that nobody seems to have made that observation.
S3 is a great october watch because it’s so spooky but for me theres never a bad time to watch s3 because it is perfection
I’m through 5 episodes of S1. As expected I’m enjoying it. Stuff that sort of keeps me guessing is my favorite. I’m also enjoying the 90s meets the 50s meets a weird acid trip vibe.
Cooper’s dream sequence at the end of episode 4 was nuts. I definitely did not expect the show to go in this direction but I definitely liked it.
Clearly the show is much more than just a singular murder mystery. I have a feeling a few of these characters aren’t going to be around by the end.
Watching Fire Walk with Me on a date is certainly something, if the other person enjoys it you know you’ve got a winner
