I always thought Jay Wright was clean, and I haven’t heard much talk about him otherwise. Looks like they had some minor recruiting violations and that’s about it for his tenure of now almost 20 years. They’ve been a high profile program for decades, they’re 18 miles from Center City Philadelphia, and they play some of their home games at the Wells Fargo Center. It’s a big time program. They were in the Big East during its peak, and they’ve managed to keep it going since the conference re-alignment.
And I say all that as a Syracuse fan.
True, but the next time I see Boeheim wear a matching suit will be the first. At least Jay Wright has style.
Oh a Boehiem fan thinking Jay Wright is clean. The two fanbases that think they are still above the fray. Fuck off Boehiem and Wright are as dirty as the rest of them.
Heh - my alma mater doesn’t screw around paying off players. We fix games like in the good old days. And we lose to tiny schools I’ve never heard of, twice so far this year.
So being 100% honest here. If I had to bet on UK football or UK basketball being next to be brought up ok recruiting violations…I’m taking football. I am legit more mystified at the recruits UK football is bringing in than basketball.
3AM and realizing this is Trump’s America thread and not the sports thread…
There’s a reason Oxford is always named the best college town in the state, and usually in the top 5 in the country, in whatever magazine or paper decides to rate things like that. Miami is the oldest university west of the appalachians, and the birthplace of the campus greek system as it is today. We let Athens have halloween weekend…the rest of the year was ours.
The look of the town and campus is very deliberate, and it’s paid off. It was definitely a great place to grow up. Of course, I only realize that now…as a kid I couldn’t fucking wait to get out.
It was a fun place to be a high school kid, that’s for sure. Unless the KKK decided to march, ldo
We used to have this thing called Little Sibs weekend…basically just a bunch of underage drinking, a carnival, and some seriously great bands. I saw Sting, Toad the Wet Sprocket, PIL, Indigo Girls, REM, and a few others when they’d come in for Little Sibs. Alas, everyone got all uptight and that ended in the 90s
Similarly, but was raised in a pretty typical conservative Catholic New England family vs evangelical. I’ve read the Bible a couple times cover to cover. I think I posted on this before how I was sent to parochial school growing up and we’d close the Bible and then open our science textbooks. My rationale mind could never differentiate the two.
As a funny aside we use to read the Bible aloud in our religion class. In like 5th grade it was my buddy James’ turn to read and we were reading something about Jesus’ circumcision in the New Testament. He stumbled over the word several times. Those of us that new the wors’s meaning we’re laughing hysterically while the teacher tried to quickly gloss it over.
I spent some time last night going in on people over there and calling people out. One dude got banned from the thread and exiled to a containment thread for basically outing himself as a Nazi sympathizer.
It takes a special kind of stupid to be openly MAGA and/or white supremacist in a restaurant. I smile thinking of all the Mexican spit those people must consume.
