Both positions are justifiable, even simultaneously. None of this will matter for the vast majority of the voters who will vote for their party absolutely no matter what. That sucks, and is certainly cause for some cynicism. But still, the outcome is going to be decided by people who could go either way on Trump in a handful of states. Hey that’s also cause for some cynicism.

And then remind him his children don’t. He won’t give a shit but should put the willies in them.

If that was the case then why did the markets tank like crazy in March? That was at a time when it wasn’t clear how bad this would be, and when general societal disruption/collapse was more on the table. Once it became clear that this was going to be BAD but not BAD!!!111!!!one!!! the markets recovered.

fyp, I think

The fed lowered the interest rate to zero and the markets crashed. The first stimulus package passed and the markets crashed. I’m not so sure I agree with you.

I find it hard to believe that someone would post incorrect information on Facebook.

You may be right but this is a pretty big Why Not Both situation.

Yeah this is probably right. It’s pretty obvious that this is going to be an every day from now to election day process. There are a whole bunch of people who don’t want another Trump term on their conscience. Not everyone is half as sociopathic as Mark Burnett.

This isn’t true at all. The DJIA hit its lowest point on March 23, then rocketed up for the rest of the week in anticipation of the bailout, which was passed and signed into law on Friday the 27th. The next week was a bit noisy, but it’s been up up and away ever since.

$750 is blowing up on my FB right now. It’s a good number.

It’s a shame it wasn’t approximately $350.

It’s possible my memory is faulty on that one.

WRT Trump and his taxes… His actual base does not care, Infact that’s a win win for them and they want Trump to not pay the Government anything, if anything $750 is too much to give wrt Trumps base…

The best play for Biden is to mention the $750 and go onto just how broke he is, tell the audience that he told us he would pay his own way while he was in debt all along.

Then mention the $750 along with the tax cut, “You were so broke you needed a rebate on $750”

“I mean if your that desperate I’d have flung you a few quid, Mr President”

The $750 thing is such a pure, one-line, easy-to-understand, and memorable line of attack though. It’s not the biggest scandal, but clarity and simplicity are really important in political messaging.

It doesn’t matter what Trump’s base thinks though. Trump’s base is going to vote Trump—that’s what it means to be his base. You want to convince other people.
