This is something I don’t buy into. I think Trump LOVES being President. How could he not? He’s got no responsibilities, unlimited power, and is able to fund unlimited money to his otherwise failing businesses. There’s no fucking way he hates the job.
Trump loves the rallies, attention and power, but he also has no idea how to use executive power.
His happiest moment as a President was honking a truck. He spends every weekend golfing.
He does not enjoy briefings, meetings or any actual duties of being President.

I think he does want to keep being president. But he didn’t want to be president when he won in 2016. These aren’t contradictory.

I think he’s just in a total bind. He doesn’t want to be President, but he can’t admit he lost/stand losing. There’s also obviously the legal and financial problems he faces.
Yeah I don’t think he was ever conceding, no matter how much he lost by. He was always going to do this voter fraud song and dance, talk about how he really was treated very unfairly, massive voter fraud. They sent dead people ballots, can you believe it? It’s a total travesty. etc, etc, etc.
I think the solution to the financial problems he might be facing is exactly what he’s doing though. He can make a ton of money post election, right? What does he pull in on AM radio and Fox if he hits it hard? Twenty million a year? Then rolls that right into 2024.

I wonder if Trump can make any money on the post-presidential speaking circuit? On the one hand, he’s toxic and anyone who invites him will be pilloried. On the other hand he’s drawing live to being president in 2024. Goldman Sacs can’t like passing up a bribing opportunity as promising as that. But I’m leaning towards no, he’s just too toxic. Has to be right wing talk radio grifting.
Oh and a memoir. lol.
If he could be President, but not watch Fox News or tweet or be a civilian and do either at will, do you think he would choose the former?

He just spent 4 years as president watching Fox News and tweeting for half the day. Why would he not be able to do those in a second term?
And in a second term he doesn’t even need to worry about reelection so he can really just golf every single day while having power and attention.
But he can do all of that as a civilian but still pay to raw dog a pornstar
He won’t have the power of the presidency nor as much attention.
