I see this going 1 of 2 ways. Elon quickly realizes that he doesn’t have absolute power over the federal government and there are a lot of bureaucratic roadblocks to making massive changes, he gets bored, makes a few minor changes at the periphery, then gets distracted by the next shiny thing and fucks off. Or he actually does get the power he wants, slashes the fuck out of things, and nice semi-functional federal government we had once.
I guess I’m somewhat hopeful there are enough roadblocks and, ironically, our government is actually inefficient and clunky enough when it comes to changes, that nothing significant happens in the next 4 years.

Eh, the range of outcomes is tremendous but if I had to guess, I’d say it’s far closer to Trump v1 (where he talked a lot of shit and gave corporations some handouts but relatively little happened) than the above.
Like a lot of worker protections will be gutted, but that’ll be left up to the states to decide what to do with, so conditions in blue states will decline only slightly but red states will continue to become even shittier places to live. He’ll definitely deport a lot of people, but I still think they’ll be too lazy/incompetent to deport so many that it blows up the economy completely.
Overall things will be far worse in four years than they are now (although Trumpers will declare it the new golden age of Murica), but despite all GOP efforts we’ll still have a functioning system.

Steven Miller’s plan to use the national guard from sympathetic red states against blue states seems highly implausible.
Musk paying for a private militia does not. That gives them a freeroll if they tank the economy. Mass deportation also factors in since they could use prison labor to negotiate pay rates.
