Trump Administration Part 2

I’d try to frame it along the lines of “Trump is stealing your money”. Congress allocated this money to be spent on your X. Trump is stealing it.

Yeah, I know it’s not exactly factual, but who gives a fuck any more.

Push it right to the edge imo. Get louder and meaner. Tit for tat

did trump blame the chickens yet? i feel like there’s going to be some speech eventually blaming woke chickens for egg prices

Trump honeymoon lasted a week

Yeah the fact that truth/reality has tons of nuance and shades of gray is why Democrats are fighting with one hand tied behind their back. Any time a Democratic politician has to start in with “well it’s like this, but also there’s this other factor and it’'s further complicated by this other thing”, Joe Sixpack kinda waves his hand and growls and walks away in disgust. But of course loves when Trump says “It’s really very simple, you do this thing and voila problem solved!” (Narrator: it’s not, but who cares).

Why not just let the government piss off the whole country. When people who get money stop getting money they will get angry. The best way to overthrow the government is to get his popularity under 20%. You need to really piss off Trumpers to get that to happen.

foxnews just had it’s best january ever so that ain’t gonna happen, they love all of this has to literally impact them and even then maybe not

The reason to not keep calling trump a fascist isn’t why stewart thinks–it’s that most people do not know what fascist or authoritarian means.

When will the Trump admin order LEO’s to go after marijuana retailers in legal use states?

  • By the end of February
  • By the end of the year
  • By the end of his term
  • Never

Well there are other ways.

That’s what they already believe. They love Trump because they truly believe he’s fighting for them. Any random deplorable will tell you he’s always been a bigly billionaire and never needed to do this. Look at Vomit saying “They aren’t coming after me, they are coming after you.” They believe this more than a 4 year old believes in Santa Claus.

It wasn’t everyone. I know you’re younger, and it was more popular among younger folks and super online edgelords, but, no, we have not in fact reached a point in our society where “everyone” supports gunning down CEO’s in ghe street.

https://www.axios.com/2024/12/17/united-healthcare-ceo-killing-poll

Most voters (68%) think the actions of the killer against Thompson were unacceptable, while 17% found them acceptable, an Emerson College poll out this week found.Young voters were far more split: 41% found the killer’s actions acceptable, while 40% found them unacceptable, per the poll. About 24% found them “somewhat acceptable” and 17% “completely acceptable.”

22% of Democrats found the killer’s actions acceptable, while 59% found them unacceptable. Among Republicans, 12% found the actions acceptable while 16% of independents said the same.Men (19%) found the killer’s actions slightly more acceptable than women (14%).

Sure, there is a lot of anger about the current healthcare system. And that is one of the best attack vectors Dems have, and they should use it But they also need to be prepared for the disingenuous R counterpunches, because it’s not like the R are just gonna roll over and admit that they’re for the rich guys. They’re really good at doing the faux populism too.

Yea but how much do those numbers change if you reword it from “Is it acceptable?” to “Is it surprising this happened?”

Young people who are living with their parents and can’t afford to buy a home and are generally less optimistic about their prospects in this shithole country are more likely to find it acceptable to kill CEOs in the street? I don’t even understand the point being made.

I’m not sure I even have a point anymore. I’m just sad and rambling because I and so many people that I love fall into one or more of the “Identity Politics” boxes and it feels like the entire Democratic party is gearing up to throw us overboard in favor of trying to rebuild the party in favor of “real Americans.”

Opinions aren’t set in stone. They can change. What if Democrats could get fewer people to say that it was unacceptable? What if Democrats could get more people to say that insurance company profits and denial of health care were bigger causes of his death?

Maybe Brian Thompson’s death was more the fault of Luigi Mangione, but if insurance companies don’t change how they do things, then maybe it’s their fault more than that of the next killer when it happens again.

that’s way less than elmo paid swing state voters to pull the trump lever

And what if I hate your edgelording nonsense and no I don’t think Dems should also become a “stochastic violence is good, actually” party?
