Can’t really fire anyone cause ATC is already critically short. It’s a shit job, wages have fallen well below inflation, their union is toothless, you get assigned to anywhere in a “take it or find a new job” deal, and the FAA is underfunded so most controllers are on a permanent 6 day/week schedule to keep things running. They’re expecting to be sold off to the private sector though. Not much room to cut wages but they can cut pensions and charge users (airlines) for services. So as usual someone will get rich by squeezing both workers and consumers.
I’m interested to see if we try to sell off our GPS satellites too. Absolutely massive commercial value and the government is just letting people use it for free.

Gaetz is 37% to get confirmed on poly market, so this is an interesting test of my faith in markets.
Honestly not even sure what I’m hoping for - Gaetz is obviously a terrible choice, but the alternative’s unlikely to be better.
