Is Antigua even a city?
God the whole point of these stupid lists is to get people to comment on how stupid they are why am I falling for this.
With that said: a list of beautiful cities with no cities in Switzerland on it. LOL.
OK I’m done.
It says based on architecture, cultural treasures, historical significance, and natural beauty.
If that’s the case then NYC makes sense, and list would mostly be populated by places like Paris, Prague, Amsterdam etc. Rio and Istanbul would also have my vote for having stunning natural settings that most of the famous cities lack.
But like LFS said, this list is just rage bait, and clearly 0 thought was put into it.
How dare you question Architectural Digest’s science on this!

Antigua, Guatemala. It’s awesome. Definitely an undiscovered gem. The missionaries all know about it though.
I am anxious to hear what’s so beautiful about Adelaide.
List is really good imo. I might switch positions between Chefchaouen and Chiang Mai, but otherwise perfect.

It kind of looks like they randed world cities.
Among major Australian cities, the only two worth mentioning for looks are Sydney and Hobart. Adelaide is nicer looking than like Melbourne or Brisbane I guess, in the same way like Portland is a scenic city compared to Houston.
Haha that really wouldn’t surprise me. I actually spent time googling green, yellow, black, white flag with red in the middle to figure out what country it was. It has a population of like 4,000 people. Damn these lists!
I just got back from Positano. Now that’s discovered.
I was in Croatia this summer, it’s gorgeous, definitely discovered, and the combination of heat, crowds, and jacked prices is not something I plan on repeating. Albania was quite a bit better, and I’ve heard people saying it’s the next Croatia, but it’s pretty far away from that.
I’d be hard pressed to call Kyoto beautiful. There are certainly beautiful pockets within the city. But overall, it’s rather drab and nondescript. Like all of Japan’s cities.
The view from Kiyomizu shrine at sunset is pretty special.
Certainly. The temples & shrines are exquisite. As is the Gion district and the other well-known sightseeing spots. But the city proper is quite plain and drab (still love it though, minus the glut of tourists).
