Traces of a suspected class A drug were found at a government grace-and-favour home after parties attended by political allies of Liz Truss, the Guardian has been told.

In the end they lost 1/3 of their 3.3k seats and 60% of their 81 councils . Biggest winners were the Greens who doubled their seats to nearly 500 and took over their first ever council. Lib Dems also did well. Given Tory losses Labour gains slightly underwhelmed. They’ve still got 550 more councillors and run 22 more councils though.
