Not really. I mean, you can try to pick a random-ass spot in Southern Saskatchewan as a staging base, but you need to be able to actually send troops and equipment there, and the logistics of that are going to be impossible. Esp since the US isn’t going to just twiddle its thumbs and wait while you’re amassing troops at the border.

World probably outnumbers the US drones 100 to 1 too when the rest of the world switches their manufacturing outputs to it/ China ships half a billion to the US and Canada. USA probably holds out for a year, then their economy falls apart, they get bombarded so much they have a tough time replacing military equipment / rest of world switches their outputs that year 2 is an easy takeover.

Depends on what the objective is. Whatever the game is. 1 billion infantry armed military aged men with drones and everything else could occupy the entire country.

on what time frame? bc i dunno. even at those numbers, most of the country is gonna have a long ass time to turn every county engineer loose on digging in and every single factory pumping out roadside bombs.
when the goal is survival… remember why we nuked japan? ninja grandmothers with swords. like good fucking luck occupying west virginia. or louisiana. texas? sure they’d fold in a minute bc they’re on the border and soft in general. but 1 billion invaders is only like 3 or 4:1, and the defenders have a huuuge home field advantage. the national guard probably has game planned out each individual state, which highways to wreck, which bridges to blow, the infrastructure of resistance. just thinking about the city i’m in for 5 minutes and i have some ideas. i guarantee in an evenly-weaponed scenario i could kill more than 3 or 4:1 of the invading spaniards or whatever lol.
the cities, especially ones on the coasts/near borders are fucked, definitely. but america is millions of square miles of non-cities. if every american knew implicitly that survival was the game, i don’t know how long i’d define “indefinitely” as, but it’s close to that.
edit: there’s a military storage place not far from here, i drove past it for years going to and from college. it’s like 3-4 miles of storage garages. and there are probably hundreds of those around the country. first 24 hours that’s getting distributed to the countryside along with a guidebook on how to target mortars. then we practice and wait to hear what works from everywhere else. then we just do the stuff that works

the scenario itself kinda takes away the option to pussy out and play video games while the world burns. when we HAVE to survive bc a billion people are invading, nobody is sitting it out.

also, again, the biggest defense we have are the oceans. how many of those 1 billion people they send ever make it off the boat? hundreds of millions will die without every setting foot on north america.
Why would that be. You land and build up in South America and push up. The numbers mean USA is toast. Your numbers are off to begin with as well as USA doesn’t have 300 million fighting age citizens and of the fighting age citizens a large percentage are too fat to fight.

Where are you putting your defences? Crossing a dessert is actually easy which is the biggest difference between the war in Iraq and the war in Iran. You need forests or mountains to defend against vastly superior numbers and America mostly has those oriented North-South which allows the world to take all the industrial areas on the coast. It is not even a real contest as the rest of the world can take their time and the difference in amount of fighting age people will increase even on any day there isn’t actually any fighting.

If the other team only holds North America in risk then you win for the same reason. You add more pieces every 10 rounds than your oponent has in total.
