Gee, I wonder which areas they’ll send those to?
It’s only legal in Republican controlled states to gerrymander. What don’t they understand?
DEMOCRATS (TRY AND FAIL TO) DELIVER!
Very good thread summing up the status of democracy in the US for anyone you know who think everything is fine:

Yeah the 95-99% probability is that things keep getting worse until they get so bad that blue states want to secede, at which point it’s up to the Trumpers whether to let them or require a civil war to do so.
Sent this thread to a friend who is an intelligent liberal and was told I’m not allowed to discuss the news with him anymore.
Heads in the sand allllllll the way to the bitter end.
The fight will come when blue cities want to secede from red states.
Just voted early in Georgia. Looks like mail-in voting is still a thing, but the dropbox was now inside the location where I voted. When voted in 2020, the box was outside.
Also, they made the sticker political. Instead of just a peach with “I’m a Georgia Voter,” they added, "I SECURED MY VOTE!’
Fuck off.
The Georgia State Supreme Court elections are mildly infuriating.
9 seats. 8 of the of incumbents are appointed by R governors, and 1 was elected. They’re starting to elect the positions instead of appointing them on a rolling basis. Therefore, 4 of the incumbents (all appointments) are stanidng for election.
Except one of them retired at a time to startegically allow Kemp to appoint his successor instead of standing for election. That leaves three incumbents up for election.
One of the incumbents (Colvin) is a black woman who appears to be pretty progressive. I have no idea why Kemp appointed her. However, she’s the only one running opposed (the opponent is another progressive black woman).
The other two incumbents (a Federalist Society judge, and one who doesn’t have clear political leanings) are running unopposed.
When 5-4 talks about the need to have an organized progressive legal strategy, this is exactly the kind of stuff we need to not fold on. State Supreme Court Justices are pretty powerful people, and the fact that we are standing pat with appointments from past governors appointments seems indefensible and a good example of our side simply not being up to the fight.
I wrote myself in for a couple of those spots.
This seems exploitable. I’m sure you could find plenty of “evidence” that conservative voters, especially the rich ones, aren’t actually qualified to vote.
And the results of that poll are exactly why Election Day is not a day off from work.
