The TSLA Market / Economy

Hedge funds shouldn’t be able to leverage to 30x. They can pose systemic risk (LTCM), so they should have their leverage ratios regulated just like other financial institutions. If they can’t get that much leverage a bunch of their strategies probably won’t work any more.

Its wayyyyyyy too late in the game for them to get into a build a PC pivot. That space is cornered online as well.

Bought AMC and EXPR this AM and sold covered calls well out of the money (50% over current price) against both. Getting 30% of the stock price back in premiums is too good to pass up imo. Loving this rise in actual share prices now.

ETA-Too bad they are back to sinking now

40 oz bottles? Because that’s like playing Edward 40 hands with a fifth of Jim Beam in one hand and a pint of gin in the other. Seems…bad.

My god, that is a perfect thisisfinedog.jpg

No - that would be ridiculous. 12 oz bottle on each hand. Very reasonable imo.

Actually less alcohol than a standard Edward 40 Hands using Old English or similar malt liquor.

Was that the full dead cat bounce?

Probably.

draftstonk having a good day I see

If I didn’t already own Cinemark (CNK) I’d be really tempted to buy some right now. It really seems to move in sympathy with AMC when AMC has a big day, then the next day if AMC calms down it seems to correct back to its norm.

@spidercrab is it possible there are that many blind algorithms out there? Or maybe actual people seeing AMC moon/tank and saying I better load up/unload CNK?

Yes, I assume there’s an infinite number of algorithms out there. I don’t know that I’d call them blind, though. Probably a better description would be backtested and unsupervised.

Agreed. I have had the opportunity to talk to lots of institutional portfolio managers through my job and there are tons of strategies based on pairing up different stocks in a strategy and running it on autopilot. Stuff like finding securities that are highly correlated and taking offsetting positions.

Backtested for normal activity not meme stonk activity.

I feel like there might be a very brief window of being able to exploit these things.

I tried 40 hands with OE high gravity (8% ABV) freshman year of college before going to a party, that was not a great idea

We used to do shot of beer a minute. Which starts out ridiculously easy then you’re blowing chunks all over the dorm bathroom.

This is making me yearn for an OE high gravity 40 topped off with some orange juice, might need to scratch the itch this week.

My kryptonite was Belgian tripels. 9%+ and go down so smooth. Had to pretty much swear them off. At least stouts make you pay for it on the way down.

Try this 120 Minute spidercrab is talking about and you’ll think those stouts will go down like water.
