OK, bought a share of SLV, let’s do this.
Careful: https://old.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/l9gv98/citadel_is_the_5th_largest_owner_of_slv_its/
And from a comment:
When that first SLV post came 'round few days ago I noticed that all top commentators were dormant accounts resurected after years of silence. One was inactive for a decade and then began spamming that SLV bullshit.
My BS detector was going off like crazy on this supposed silver push and this confirms it.
well the early rush is happening at any rate–the physical silver sellers online all got hit hard
Is there a notable example of a failed attempted short squeeze of a stock that one would cite if writing a book about short squeezes?
It was posted earlier but this thread is the classic example. Even if you succeed, usually someone other than the shorts ends up holding the bag too.

of course buttface112211 on the internet is getting rich
and you all still think the average person can’t get ahead
anyway gme interest still holding but not as bullish as last week, amc interest fell quite a bit today, SLV starting up even if it is bots, they’re falling for it. NOK is treading water, BB interest has fallen off the cliff.
They’re torn between looking for the next thing and also realizing the strategy won’t work if they are pushing too much at the same time.

I’d have gone with WE LIKE THE STOCK but I’m not a big-time Hollywood guy.
Doesn’t Europe have no capital gains tax? How do they make do?
Lmao yeah that’ll create a more equal society.
I would suspect its treated as ordinary income? We have capital gains tax in Australia but its basically just given a 50% discount then added to your ordinary income (barring some exemptions ie. selling your personal residence)
As much as I’d love 0% LTCG, that’s a pretty transparent proposal.
He could achieve the same effect by going the other way: Start at 40% and just step it down by 4% per year to 20% after a 5+ year hold period? I guess he just didn’t think of it.
He’s just trying to enrich himself man
Yeah, that was my point.
