I don’t think any of the places I hung out when I lived in Ashland are still there, other than the theaters. The Shakespeare Festival had a nice gift shop at one time if you need to stock up on Elizabethan themed merch. There might be a different set of cool little shops down by Lithia Park if you get a chance to stop in town.
I nearly died when he said he assumed Sully was aroused and then brought in a robot and made everyone leave so he could masturbate.
Its one of the most absurd things I’ve ever seen on TV, and that was after to scale Dad on stilts happened.
I do not know where MobLand is headed but I am genuinely worried for Harry ![]()
We went down for dinner last night and it is indeed a cute little town. Very hippy upscale, almost like Telluride that way.
Yup, there is a small college in town and then the theater which sells around 300k tickets a year (or did back in the 90’s when I worked there), so it is a weird tourist/college time combo.
Ugh.
Pregnancy tests expire in a couple years, and are clearly labeled so.
And if Dina found 5 and lets say ignored that, why not give one to Ellie to see if she also gets a positive?
Some pretty fun discussions of the last seasons of Game of Thrones
I’m going to stand by my belief that the heel turn out of nowhere was not inherently wrong and was quite possibly the reason GRRM wrote the series. If I’m him, the whole point of the series would be to fuck with readers’ heads one last time.
Yah, and how about transporting air from SJ to LA and pumping it out in the dog’s face?
Even if the overall arc of the story didn’t hit for some, there were still a ton of hilarious moments peppered in. The episode currently has a 9.7 on IMDB, so for now it’s the highest rated episode Nathan’s ever done.
She openly talks about burning Kings Landing to the ground in earlier seasons.
Like with Ep 2, I was laughing out loud during several points of this episode. But was also
throughout.
This morning, I told my wife (who has never seen any of this show and would–with 100% certainty–hate any Nathan Fielder show) that I wanted her to watch 5 minutes of a show I was watching. The start was Nathan shaving and then making his entrance with a diaper, and I ended when stilts-dad gave Nathan the model airplane.
Midway through, she basically exploded and repeatedly asked/screamed, “WTF are you watching?”. She also kept asking why Nathan’s/Sully’s sister had such a fucked up face, and I obviously had no answer. Fun times.
Just adding another +1 to this. The baby stuff was a bit too much for me (still appreciate it), but the Evanescence climax + “pilot’s code ?” may be my favourite TV moment of the decade.
And that’s on top of at least 10 other great moments that I’m too lazy to go back and write down…
5 random minutes of this show >>> the full run of anything else I’ve watched in recent memory
(I guess that means I should try and finish Nathan For You but that’s still too hard too watch for me…)
If this is what he has planned then where the fuck is Winds of Winter?
+1, this is a top five Oldman character for me, somewhere behind Drexel, Zorg and maybe Chuchill. It was my favorite show on TV until Mobland dropped.
Ok finally watched ep 3 of the Rehearsal. Nothing to add to the discourse. Brilliant television. LKJ man you are a tough critic lol.
HBO sunday nights right now are S Tier - The Last Of Us, The Rehearsal, Righteous Gemstones…fantastic entertainment
I’m 2 episodes into mobland right now and I feel like this show was made just for me. I’m loving it.
Yeah if there was such a thing as watercooler moments anymore, they would be dominated by HBO sunday (Dont forget Last Week Tonight following all that you just mentioned)
Absolutely you’re right. Love Last Week Tonight
I promise that I wish I saw the episode that you all saw. I generally have as pro-Nathan of a bent as you’ll tend to find.
