Haven’t looked at IMDB ratings or anything, enjoyed that one the most though. Anything that was Rebecca heavy dragged for me.
Yea that ep is the worst
i spoke with my gen z niece and nephew, and it turns out they’ve never even heard of Cheers. Niece had apparently heard of Seinfield, but never watched it. They’ve seen clips of The Friends, but not of King of the Hill.
i’ve failed as an uncle.
If it hasn’t been on a streaming service forever no one under 25 has seen it
Cheers? I think its been on both HULU and Peacock if im not misgaken
I watched some old Cheers and there was a healthy amount of cringy “things were different back then” stuff. Was tough to watch.
I’m Canadian so neither is available here, I’m 100% sure in my peer group of early to mid 30s people zero people have seen Cheers.
The Office wasn’t even super popular when it was on TV, it’s just had a huge explosion from being on Netflix.
I’ve never seen Cheers.
I haven’t done the maths exactly but I know that 125-97 is 28 and 97 - 69 is 28 so in less than 4 years time the first episode of king of the hill will be closer to the moon landing than to the current date.
I’m 5 episodes in (eps 4 and 5 released today). I’m enjoying it so far. Thought the 5th ep was the best so far. The main character (Mackenzie Davis) was in Halt and Catch Fire, a show I loved.
The really fantastic reviews seem to be from critics who have seen the entire series, so I’m pretty excited to finish it. I did see Chris Ryan and Andy Greenwald from the Ringer both had it as their best show of 2021. Not huge fans of them but do respect their opinion.
FYI I’ve read that it differs quite a bit from the book, which is irritating bookreaders.
Just begun watching Seinfeld. Never watched an episode of Friends until long after the series had ended. Did watch all of Cheers when it was on though.
Diane or Kristy Alley?
It is even necessary to ask?
I’m in the same boat as you, I had parents who didn’t watch TV sitcoms so I never really watched Seinfeld or Friends even though I had lots of friends who did, although of course I’ve seen plenty of well known episodes here and there. I’m now working through season 2 of Seinfeld on Netflix
On Season 4 and it just keeps getting better and better.
feel like the fact that you used one character’s name and one actor’s name says right there which character is better
yeah it really takes a jump in 3, then it’s pretty excellent from 4-7 until Larry David leaves. 8 and 9 are still good but they’re not quite the same
I never realized how huge Seinfeld was until I was playing a little league playoff game when I was like 13 that got rain delayed, and everyone in the stands was chanting to cancel the game bc it was threatening to miss the Seinfeld series finale.
This is correct. 3 is the low point, 6-7 are the peak for sure. Definitely some good stuff in 8-9 but a noticeable drop off.
Honestly I think the moment George realizes he needs to do the opposite of everything is the singular high point of the series.
