The Television Streaming Thread: Part II - Hot Takes, Jags Fans, and Bert

their russian accents are atrocious. i liked the show but they looked totally off compared to actual russians they cast

Love The Americans.

Lmao the accent is my favorite part, I’m only at ep2 but I can see I was very wrong about the “true story” meaning it could not get stupid enough, I can’t wait to watch the rest.

Decided to watch an episode of Peacemaker on a whim, and I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. John Cena is a way better actor than I would have guessed.

Anyone still watching Peaky Blinders? It’s a show I thoroughly enjoyed, and then abandoned years ago for no reason other than distraction in another direction.

Was surprised to see it’s still going on.

Yeah I love it but there haven’t been new episodes in a long time. I think we get a new season soon. My biggest issue with the show is the short seasons.

Watched Yellowjackets. That penultimate episode was crazy.

Not sure I like where I think things are going but I will watch another season.

They promised us cannibalism

But they didn’t guarantee it would happen this season.

There is a new season, which is why I remembered it existed. Time to catch up.

Could be bs but apparently they have 5 seasons planned out. Hopefully they’ve learned from lost in that respect.

Finished station eleven I remember there was some talk about it in this thread. I really liked the cross between an Avant Garde theatre piece and fallout New Vegas. Like tell me that the museum of civilization at an airport, the travelling symphony going around a lake, the golf course turned refuge, the red bandana gang and the mall of pregnant ladies don’t sound like Fallout ideas.

Severance is so far, 2 episodes in, way better than I thought it would be.

Adam Scott, John Turtorro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette in what seems to be a long-form Black Mirror episode that I think might break down at any moment into lolbad, but so far it’s holding up.

My current theory is that they are bad people, criminals, who serve time in psych-prison for 8 hours a day. Adam Scott killed his wife or something. Britt Lower’s character is there to like see if they are being treated humanely? … hmm, but then wouldn’t the “outies” have to have had their memories of the crimes erased for that to make sense? eh, wutever, it’s something like that.

Any other people here watching / have watched Insecure? I am late to this one, just finished Episode 7 of the first season. I’ve seen mixed feedback but I really enjoyed the season (so far, I guess they could screw it all up in the last episode).

The show is pretty funny without being a “comedy”. It’s also just refreshing to see a show that treats black people as just people and not some white main character’s “diverse” friend or whatever.

yeah this is fun, I’d watch Adam Scott read a phone book though.
