I’m…kinda excited? MASSIVE fanboy of the original movies and books (which I read once a year from age 12 to 20 or so), and obviously insanely let-down by the hobbit movies, so a bit wary. Still excited by new Middle Earth content, but very ready to be disappointed and throw the remote at the TV by episode 2.
i’d watch a baby billy spinoff
Got to this episode last night. I think that’s my new least favorite episode ever.
This season has been a disaster thus far. 4 terrible episodes, 1 was a mixed bag, and 2 were good but still a few notches below elite R&M. What the fuck.
Watched the first four episodes of Suspicion on AppleTV. Noah Emmerich pulled me in.
Going to stick with the rest of the season but not blown away or anything.
Foreseeing the kidnapped kid is in on the plot-plot twist
Yeah, I watched the first two episodes and quit. I’ve never enjoyed Shonda Rhimes’ stuff, but my wife wanted to watch this and it sounded interesting, so I gave it a shot. It’s basically the same, old Rhimes drama bullshit. I’ve peeked in once or twice while my wife was watching other episodes because I had nothing else to do and found it more enjoyable when I don’t have to sit through entire episodes.
To her credit, my wife agrees it’s dumb, but she has a lot of trouble quitting on a show.
I’ve seen 3 or 4 episodes on and off, the main girls accent makes it almost unwatchable
Oh damn ya’ll
Arcane is incredible
Watched the Boing story on Netflix. Makes me mad. Getting 62mil for killing people drives me nuts. Labour camp would be just good enough.
5 episodes in. The fact that the inciting incident doesnt occur until Ep 3 shows some fantastic restraint. Being able to spend almost the entirety of the first three episodes character and world building makes every subsequent action/reveal/moment have so much more weight behind it.
Just started watching The Americans. Only 4 episodes in, but so far it’s prettay good.
One thing that annoys me a bit is the guy they cast as Phillip. The actor’s American accent is decent, but not good enough. It’s apparent he is not American. The whole premise is that they are supposed be so well-trained that no one could tell.
Otherwise he does a good job in the role, so it’s not really a big deal. Just a bit annoying.
I just walked in to the room where my wife was watching and sure enough, as soon as I looked at the TV, there were multiple overhead shots of LA.
Alright, finished with the season. 10/10. 100 bags of popcorn. 9 thumbs up.
Just fantastic all around, and no need to have any LoL knowledge (in fact that could be a major hinderance) to thoroughly enjoy it. The stylistic animation is chefs kiss beautiful, the story is touching, heartfelt, devastating, triumphant and miserable all at the same time. It tackles issues of class and privledge, and yet at its heart its a love story. While it doesnt break any real new ground with its storytelling its still very easy to get sucked in and become immersed.
The patience shown when it comes to the worldbuilding is immaculate, and a few reveals throughout really blew my socks off. The action scenes are tight, while also being sufficiently chaotic in the carnage that is represented, and overall its just a damn lot of fun with a ton of heart.
It deserves every bit of its 100/97 RT scores.
I love the Americans. Enjoy!
When you consider his actual accent it’s amazing.
I really enjoyed it at first, but as the series dragged the plot directions and character growth (or lack thereof) seemed increasingly difficult to believe in or care about. I didn’t even watch the last season.
Describing most shows really. One with this high a probability of the characters getting caught have to really suspend disbelief.
i don’t love Euphoria, i’m IN LOVE with Euphoria! 5 bags of popcorn!
The last season is the best season.
Counterpoint: I had no clue he wasn’t an American actor even after watching the entire series twice until I saw him on a late night talk show and was absolutely flabbergasted.
