Man I don’t know. I didn’t love it in real time but I think it was fine.
It delivered just fine imo.
I may not have been paying close enough attention: Plaza’s husband fucked financebro’s wife, yes?
100% yes
Thought it was 5 bags of popcorn
Even though you had a sense of where the Albie and even the Tanya storylines were going, the execution was sublime and really satisfying imo. Stuff like Hugo going in the water before Tanya gave you the faintest bit of hope that there was a chance she was going to make it. Her escapade was hilarious to the last too.
The couples storyline didn’t work for me, even with blonde wife and Aubrey’s husband hooking up. But still
really liked it.
White Lotus Seemed a bit too straight forward and kind of boring. They created the most tension possible and then took all the easy ways out. But I’m said to see Tanya go.
Very strongly S1 > S2 after the finale.
White Lotus 10/10 finale i really hope there is a season 3 maybe with financebro and his wife in the maldives?
White lotus finale
Big laughs from me watching Tanya go out scarface magoo style.
5 bags of popcorn
OK, now did Harper bang Cameron?
Yeah, this was more or less my exact opinion of the whole thing.
Looks like Greg is the big winner here
Yeah, that makes sense. It got very middling reviews from the two Norwegian sources I found as well (3/6, and yes we use a d6 to score TV series), so a bit skeptical - but definitely right in my wheelhouse.
I’m still 50/50 on harper not screwing Cameron. Though his “time to finally meet you properly” and her bug eyes has been leaning towards it. That and the hat thing.
But I’m 100% on Ethan hooking up with Cameron’s wife. Because it has always been about Ethan being jealous that Cameron fucked the girls Ethan wanted and finally the shoes on the other foot and that’s what gives him his mojo back.
Thought Aubrey Plaza calling finance bro stupid was the tell they boned.
I think I’m in the group that thought that was kinda meh and a bit safe, but overall I still really loved the season. I’d give S2 an 8.5/10 and S1 (which I rewatched last week) an 8/10.
re: Lucia and Albie
Kinda doubt that someone as rich and attractive as Albie would be that much of a simp. Lucia wasn’t even pressing for the 50k at all. I think she mentioned it like once and then barely brought it up herself. She seemed content just to hang with a nice dude and have a bit of harmless fun. I don’t think she would’ve cared if he didn’t pay the money. But it wasn’t even Albie’s money, so I guess who cares in the end, but I don’t think she was out to “play him”.
Season 3 with Greg enjoying his windfall at White Lotus Ibiza.
Yea I went back and yea that’s a level of familiarity with Cameron that she hadn’t shown before. All signs point to it. In my little head cannon I hoped against hope because she didn’t seem like the type (I know, I know) and it would be some karma for Ethan to hook up with Cameron’s wife and Cameron failing to hook up with Ethan’s wife.
The way that it plays out is fine though and understandable. On re-watch there’s some good direction of mixing in the melancholy of Daphne’s realization and seduction of Ethan. It really did come down Cameron and Daphne having a fake relationship. The quickness and ease with which she pivots to rationalization and then takes control so that she won’t feel like a victim. It’s just games and retribution.
What’s the next new hot show?
Feel like I need to get in on the ground floor of one of these shows that has spoilers in all the posts.
Can we come away with the conclusion that it’s a fake relationship? I don’t believe so. In some ways, I think it’s a pretty advanced relationship. Like maybe they know themselves well and know that they aren’t really the monogamous types so they’ve figured out a way to still love each other and keep the relationship functioning while having their fun on the side.
I’d imagine that the majority of relationships of this type would involve a lot more candid communication, but I could see this “don’t ask, don’t tell” type working out. Like both know that they’re doing stuff on the side, and maybe they don’t want the details. I don’t necessarily think this means they love each other less or that they’re broken as a relationship.
Am I the only one that thinks Daphne was implying that her personal trainer is the father of one of her children?
Yes, discussed upthread. Arguably, finance bro knows based on his reaction to the face time.
It came up when she had the heart-to-heart with Aubrey and showed her a pic of her blond blue eyed trainer and instead showed a pic of her blond blue eyed kid.
