How about MasterChef? We watch that when it airs. Has all the great cooking action and Gordon without the swearing.
Lol, yeah, hes got plenty of that. He just really enjoyed watching Stranger Things with us and we are looking for a similar series type thing we can watch a couple episodes of each night.
It was 2 years since the last westworld season and they couldnāt think up anything forā¦ Bernard William Maeve to do this season? Maeve derping around for this seasonās big bad doesnāt count. I mean there is one character who gets any sort of plot at all and the season is 3/4s done. Why even bring back Bernard and William? I mean just give them the Teddy treatment.
Zero hope they can pull off a good ending too. bobsburgerscomplainthewholetime.jpg.
Gordon, Joe Bastianich , and Aaron Sanchez. Pretty good lineup actually. Not the biggest Aaron fan, but he seems to be a damned good cook. If you have access to the American version you should check a season out.
I donāt know about liiike, but we watched Umbrella Academy with our teen and it wasnāt bad. My wife and daughter also watched Lemony Snickets together, which the daughter enjoyed, maybe as much for the way it made the wife cringe as anything else.
We also watched Travelers together, and my daughter is pissed there were only three season.
Oh man have you shown them Cutthroat Kitchen? Being able to sabotage the other chefs has to be top tier programming for a 12 year old
My kid is juuuuust old enough now (4.5) to enjoy a few shows together. Planet Earth was a hit last night. I really really hope sheās into Cosmos later today.
Original or remake?
Iām thinking remake, but not sure. Itās been many years since I saw the original.
Probably a good choice. The original owns my heart but itās a bit more dry than kids these days tend to have the ability to sit through.
That being said if you do go with the original Iād love a TR about how it goes, cause I could be wrong there.
Lol, Iām not trying to force him to watch anything. Just want to find something we can watch together that isnt absolute garbage.
I showed him The Matrix the other day which went over pretty well. He asked about the sequels, and I said we dont speak about such things in this household.
Bloodline is pretty good. Linda Cardellini is A+ in every way.
idk how he does it or how to make make movies and TV shows. But when I watch something like Inception I donāt think, āthis is a dumb plot that doesnāt make any sense at allā, even though that clearly is the case. I just enjoy the fun and spectacle of it without sweating the details.
The longer I watch WW the more obvious it becomes that itās really just B-grade sci-fi with a massive budget and delusions of self-importance.
So much truth in so few words
Iām out on treating westworld as top tier TV at this point, but last nights episode was clearly the best of the season so far IMO. Itās all dumb now, but it was fun.
Middleditch and Schwartz drops tonight
Havenāt seen it but they usually kill it on Comedy Bang Bang so I have high high hopes
I just donāt think the evidence is in your favor here.
Chris has made ten released movies. Jon has released seven.
Chris movies | Jon movies |
---|---|
Following | |
Memento | Memento |
Insomnia | |
The Prestige | The Prestige |
Batman Begins | Batman Begins |
The Dark Knight | The Dark Knight |
Inception | |
The Dark Knight Rises | The Dark Knight Rises |
Interstellar | Interstellar |
Dunkirk |
Now thatās not including the two TV shows Jon has made.
TV
Person of Interest
Westworld
Including all of his movie and TV projects, Jon was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Memento, and for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Westworld,. He won the 2012 Peopleās Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama and the 2016 Peopleās Choice Award for Favorite TV Crime Drama for Person of Interest. I could keep going.
Jon did do an uncredited rewrite on the awful Terminator: Salvation, but if youāre an in-demand screenwriter, youāre doing a lot of uncredited rewrites no one knows about for a lot of movies that might be great or might suck. So I think we are right to not consider this one as āhis.ā
Now what about if weāre just looking at Chris? Six of Jonās movies was as the screenwriter for his brother. Look at those.

So if you take out the movies Jon wrote with Chris, what do you have left? Well, before the reveal, letās see what youāre claiming we will find.
Here are the movies Chris made without Jon:
Following
Insomnia
Inception
Dunkirk
Now Iāll concede that Inception is potentially superior to everything else on this list, but thatās a far different claim than what youāre making about Jon vs Chris.
So again, I really donāt think the evidence is in your favor, but if youāre willing to die on a hill made out of nothing more than Following/Insomnia/Dunkirk, I respect your bravery.
This is a hill Iām not even willing to walk up and Iāll just leave it as a show I donāt particularly care for and call it a day.
I was recommended Supernatural by the 11 year old daughter of a friend of mine, there are like 100 seasons or something of it. I lost interest in it but it wasnāt bad for a demon hunting show and my friend isnāt an awful parent so it should be kid safe.
Shoot. Well thank you for the thought then and for letting me pontificate out loud about it
