Red Dwarf went on for 12 seasons, but there were only 73 episodes and the first episode was in 1998. Absolutely Fabulous ran for 5 seasons. Downton Abbey for 6. The Avengers had 8 seasons and a whopping 161 episodes. Doctor Who has had 26 seasons since 1963 with over 800 episodes.
British television is just run differently. Fawlty Towers is considered an all-time great comedy, but it had only two seasons of six episodes each, aired four years apart.
What else are they showing over there? Do they just have
so many short run series that they can fill all their time slots or is it a bunch of re-runs and foreign crap?
Better Call Saul is kinda losing me. Jimmy is more and more unlikable every episode and there’s no Chuck to make him even a little bit sympathetic. I have never found Kim to be a compelling character or cared what happens to her at all. Impossibly competent superhero Mike is getting old (literally too). The only person with a potentially interesting arc is Nacho and his story line gets ~0 screen time.
Went back to watching SAO and almost done with season 1. I don’t watch a lot of anime’s but this one has me pretty good, granted I play a lot of video games and no life pretty hard, so the subject is topical lol.
That’s the whole point. We’re seeing Jimmy’s transition to scumbag lawyer. He’s just starting to realize that the legal system has loopholes he’s yet to exploit. Kim is the goody goody playing it straight and somewhat jealous of Jimmy’s success.
Matter of time before they either break up or end up going head to head in court while Jimmy’s representing the cartel. Of course he chooses the cartel over her and that’s that.
Futureman is a hulu original series about time-traveling militant anti-vaxxers from a dystopian future with the mission to kill the scientist who first discovers a cure to all diseases.
At first I thought it was just pretty good, then after a few episodes I decided it was really good, but when they break into James Cameron’s house and Wolf invents the truffledome it became a 6-bagger. Legendarily awesome tv show. A fantastic mix of smart and stupid, action and comedy, sharp sci fi situations and slapstick.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned before but we just blitzed through inside no 9 it’s an outer limits/twilight zone style anthology but artfully done. The Big Reveal is there but the build up stories themselves are usually pretty compelling and would often stand alone without the gimmick. Hits and misses (the first ever episode is one of the worst imo) but you’ll find something to enjoy in there.
