Hulu Live seems like it’s added so many channels recently that it’s now better than Comcast’s standard lineup.
Unfortunately, still no PBS stations on Hulu Live.

In case anyone watched Storage Wars and was looking for a nostalgic update (I assume no one still watches it). Hard to believe these guys broke up, they always seemed to get along so well on the show

That show was peak “Reality shows that are 100% fake and staged.”
I honestly struggle with a lot of reality shows for that reason. Either give me scripted drama or complete behind the scenes access, but the weird in between shit just doesn’t land right with me.

Yes. I am not sure if these shows help explain how Trump became President or are symptomatic of what led to it, but I agree with you completely.
The fact that the show continues to enjoy success even after being outed as fake by one of the main cast members, who has himself since returned to the show tells me all I will ever need to know about the state of humanity and our level of WAAFness.
So a show like House Hunters which is insanely popular and is that mix of in between? You’ve got real people looking to buy properties but lots of times they’ve already bought the house they’re “deciding on” while filming. I’ve read that sometimes they’ve had to move personally identifying things out of a house that the person/couple are looking to buy because they’re actually already living there.
I fully admit to watching it and love the “He’s a professional bird watcher and she just received her stimulus check. Their budget is $1.5M”.

I had a house that I renovated and was temporarily living in featured on Property Virgins, so that part at least was real. But they didn’t end up buying it so I have no idea if they were real buyers with that budget or not.

The funny thing is that the budget on “Lottery Dream Home” is usually a lot less than normal “House Hunters.” Probably just trying to get at different demos.
Comes out Friday. Getting great reviews. And considering Patton Oswalt is both the star and co-creator, I don’t doubt it’s good.

I love House Hunters International, but mostly just for the snapshots of different cities and a general idea of housing costs. I couldn’t care less if the rest of the show is more or less staged.
I remember one episode with a hilarious ending. The guy was looking to buy a property worth 500k or something, but it seemed unlikely that he would have that type of money. At the end of the episode the narrator said something like “Hero’s loan from the bank fell through and now he’s renting”. Would’ve loved to have known the whole backstory on that episode. Like was it just a random guy who lied to get on TV?
A friend of mine was on House Hunters International, looking for a place to live in Dubai. Can confirm this is true. He was already living in his apartment, which had been provided by the company he came to work for, and then they fabricated him and his wife going through the process of looking at three places and then “deciding” on the place they already lived.
Why does someone participate in this ruse? Don’t all your friends and family find it a little embarrassing and think a little less of you? I assume they get paid.
Those pawn shop things are always bullshit. Hardcore Pawn was by far the most obviously staged reality show I’ve ever seen.
American pickers as well is pretty staged from What I’ve read.
I joke that the Barnyard Builders are all actors. The good old boys are really liberal elites.
been watching Love Death and Robots, a couple episodes at a time. kinda dig it. short format helps. better than black mirror imho.

I rationed Season 2 out 2 or 3 a night. Big variance in quality, but none were truly bad. A couple very derivative and 1 just plain dumb. Season 2 is definitely weaker.
As an overall series, it’s not close to Black Mirror
