This is dangerously close to a “Why have opinions at all?” take.
BBT just like Two and a Half Men is a show where it’s really easy to see why so many people enjoy it. It’s just that the stuff is 100% not to my taste.
It’s a fair question!
What’s the question?
Pretty much all the cool samurai shows and games are set during the warring states era. Lots of drama back then.
Why have opinions at all?
The Big Bang theory is really popular with people who do not realize the onion is satire.
Why think about anything? Why try to develop or refine or even understand our tastes?
Anyway, if you want a real answer, it’s because forming opinions and tastes about art and story helps us to understand it better, which helps us understand ourselves better, which helps us understand our world better, all of which leads us to have better experiences with art and story (through better choosing which ones we experience and through understanding them in greater depth and detail), and those experiences lead us to understand ourselves and our world better, etc.
I was not asking for an answer only because I didn’t expect one. But that is a good answer! So I am glad you shared it.
Learned something new today when pulling up HBO Max. Apparently, Cinemax is a Warner owned property under the HBO license. HBO Max just added some Cinemax original series I’ve been intrigued by in the past but never had a desire to pay for such as Banshee. Anybody have a review?
Banshee was pretty cool, definitely worth the watch now thats its on HBO.
So I’m watching Family Feud, while waiting for Big Bang to come on and they ask “How much money could a husband lose in Vegas without the wife getting mad?” The #1 answer was $100. To give you an idea how weird serious gamblers are.
Nah it’s definitely the children non-gamblers who are out of touch here.
Lol wat. Was it a re-run from the ‘70s?
Steve Harvey was hosting, so no.
Well that’s the saddest thing I’ve heard all day.
Ted Lasso just won a GG for all you nerds. Haven’t yet brought myself to watch it.
Wayne on Amazon Prime
Reminds me a lot of The End of the Fucking World (which I liked). Two high school kids from broken homes go on the run and get into trouble while learning some life lessons along the way. Good amount of violence if that’s not for you.
TED LASSO IS SO GOOD
Anyone knows that +/- 1 buyin is “breaking even”
I’m playing late night 15/30 at Bellagio. The wife plays the penny or nickel slots. She gets up a few dollars on a hot machine and quits. For the whole trip.
(Somehow i played 4 shorter sessions and was positive each mini session but for a grand total of about 400). Let’s just say her idea of “enough poker time” and my idea were a wee bit different. I needed to be human during the day so no all nighters.
