Not 1990s.
Though it seems like there are a lot of solid 2000/2001 movies that maybe “pre 9/11” should be the cutoff.

My 11- and 13-year olds did not like Clueless. I think it’s dated and they couldn’t relate because of their ages. Dazed and Confused wouldn’t be appropriate at all.
Spirited Away
Dude, Where’s My Car has more wins above title expectation than any other player.
I’ve been working my way through season three of The Twilight Zone and it’s like back-to-back-to-back bangers; so many incredible episodes that I’ve never even seen before. I’ve spent a great deal of time watching Twilight Zone marathons, but Little Girl Lost, Four O’Clock, and Hocus-Pocus and Frisby were like a one-two-three punch to my brainial regions.
The first two Mummy movies, ldo
from 1993 alone:
The Sandlot
Jurassic Park
Mrs. Doubtfire
The Fugitive
Sleepless in Seattle
Hocus Pocus
Tombstone
Gettysburg
Groundhog Day
Nightmare Before Christmas
Robin Hood: Men in Tights (LOL)
The Three Musketeers
So I Married an Axe Murderer (Head! Pants! Now!)
Dave (GOAT president movie, don’t @ me)
Whew…1993 was a pretty good year
Thanks everyone. Some great suggestions I hadnt thought of.
Think I might be going the action route since he preferred The Matrix to Groundhog Day. I know it’s not the 90s, but Die Hard, T2, and finish it off with Hot Fuzz (my all time favorite movie) maybe Point Break since its mentioned heavily in Hot Fuzz, but I need to review that one first myself
Was going through an old folder of pics and found this one. Reposting as a reminder that Patriot was one of the best shows ever made and you’re a damn fool if you haven’t watched it yet.
watched the first episode and decided it wasn’t my thing.
Currently rewatching Sopranos for like the fifth time or so.
You should watch more episodes.
It is an amazon prime original. I just rewatched it the other day actually and it’s elite as fuck. 5 bags
5 beetle bags, shit, gonna have to find a way to get to this.
They couldn’t seem to figure out how to market it (understandably). It’s a very dry, very absurd black comedy with surprising emotional depth and some truly outstanding camera work.
Boy, they were REALLY bad at marketing that show. I thought it was a sequel to the Mel Gibson movie of the same name.
I loved, loved the first season and couldn’t make it through the 2nd. Went a bit off the rails for me.
Every once in a while I think about “double great”. For some reason that scene always stuck with me, love that guy.
Edit: I mean the song where he says it, not the song scene.
Love on the Spectrum if you want to cry
Good series for date night.
Rhea Seehorn gets snubbed by the Emmy committee after turning in the best BCS season 5 performance.
Shameful by the committee
Emmy nominations were very mediocre this year. Incredibly middlebrow. The refusal to nominate Seehorn after two seasons of carrying that show is just one of many absurdities.
