The Supreme Court: RIP Literally Everything

Because we can. Now fuck off.

Glad they were able to help out this “at risk youth” with a private boarding school.

As always, the trick to being a serious journalist is pretending to be unbelievably dense. Why would Thomas let this rich guy give him gifts?!?! It’s so weird!

Remember when everyone was having a shitfit over Harriet Miers getting the nod? And instead we got Alito the fascist pos for decades? Great times

TBF, the right torpedoed Meyers because she was not raised up and vetted by them. (She would have been a terrible choice and likely would have pushed an evangelical agenda, but she was not a member of the club.)

Is there like a gift registry for SC judges or something?

Last time I bought tires I went cheap. These would have been more than my car is worth.

Does the guy drive a monster truck? How are you spending $1200 on tyres?

Tires are, or at least can be, super expensive. My wife just had a tire replaced on a BMW and it was $600 I think. One tire.

Surely that’s like with the labour cost too though no?

The tires could be for his motorcoach

"The 72-year-old Thomas has the KOA discount card and a bunch of others for older Americans, he said in a conversation with businessman and philanthropist David Rubinstein at the Supreme Court in 2019. “The senior citizens have looked out for themselves. You get every possible discount you could get,” he said.

He was in his early 50s when he and his wife, Ginni, got the RV bug. They’ve had their vehicle since 1999 — technically a motorcoach and not an RV, Thomas told Yale alumni in 2014. They regularly spend their summers on the road, making it to nearly two dozen states in 2018, he said last year."

Yes. But that means the tire was probably at least $400 I think? Just guessing.

The tire being replaced must have been relatively new. I think big tire usually advises replacing them in pairs.

Lol

You know how the libs like to gossip about disclosure so I thought I’d be best to not disclose.
